Brent Handler

Founder and Chief Executive Officer

Brent pioneered the destination club industry when he and his brother Brad founded Exclusive Resorts in 2002. Brent served as the company's president from 2002 to 2009 during a period of great innovation and growth. Exclusive Resorts amassed more than $1 billion in real estate assets and delivered tens of thousands of vacations to members worldwide. Brent created Inspirato to appeal to a new generation of savvy consumers and attracted over 1,000 members in the company's first year. The innovative business model inspired Forbes magazine to name Inspirato one of "America's Most Promising Companies" in 2011. The company attracted investments from top venture capital firms like Kleiner Perkins Caufield Byers and IVP. Brent graduated from the University of Colorado with a bachelor's degree in business.

What inspires me?

Watching my children experience things for the first time. My wife. Working with smart, dedicated people. Losing to my 13-year-old in a game of ping-pong in our basement. Vacationing with my family and close friends. Building new businesses that challenge established industries.

Brad Handler

Founder and Chairman

As one of Inspirato's founders, Brad focuses on corporate finance and strategic initiatives. For more than 20 years, Brad has worked at some of the world's most exciting and innovative companies. He started his career at Apple, and later served as eBay's first attorney during a time of tremendous growth in the online world. In 2002, he founded Exclusive Resorts with his brother Brent and served as the company's CEO and Chairman. Brad continues to bring his passion for entrepreneurship to a number of private companies. He is a lecturer at Stanford Law School and the University of Virginia School of Law. Brad earned a bachelor's degree from the University of Pennsylvania, a bachelor's degree from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania, and a juris doctorate from the University of Virginia School of Law.

What inspires me?

The Tuscan countryside. My wife's smile. Discovering new and exciting vacation destinations.

Martin Pucher

Founder and COO

Martin leads Inspirato's corporate operations, human resources and technology teams. Prior to founding Inspirato, Martin was the Executive Vice President of publicly traded Tii Network Technologies, a leading networking products manufacturer. He also served as the company's Chief Marketing Officer and board member. Previously, he served in various management positions at Liberty Media Corporation, including Senior Vice President and Chief Technology Officer within its digital media group. He was a founding member of DMX Music - acquired by Liberty - which pioneered digital music subscription services to homes and businesses, worldwide. Martin graduated from the Georgia Institute of Technology with a bachelor's degree in engineering.

 

 

What inspires me?

My wife of 15 years and our three children's endless enthusiasm for life. Technology and innovations. Building new businesses. Learning from the unexpected. The sound of wind hitting a sail.

Brian Corbett

Founder and Chief Experience Officer

Brian directs Inspirato's real estate, property operations and hospitality functions, and is responsible for enhancing the overall Inspirato membership experience. Prior to founding Inspirato, Brian was Vice President of Product Development and Strategy for Exclusive Resorts, where he created the company's highly successful "Once in a Lifetime" experiential travel program. Brian also served as the company's first director of real estate. He began his career as an economic and management consultant in Washington, D.C. Brian earned a bachelor's degree from Boston University and an MBA from Harvard Business School.

 

 

What inspires me?

My two sons and my supportive wife. The power and beauty of mountains and oceans. Foreign travel. Watching my kids learn, explore and laugh without inhibition. Teachers and innovators. Working with talented people and doing what I love.

Vilia Valentine

Chief Financial Officer

Vilia oversees accounting, finance and investor relations at Inspirato, bringing her wealth of experience increasing company value and driving financial growth. Prior to joining Inspirato, Vilia served as the Principal Financial Officer at MDC Holdings, a $1 billion public homebuilding and financial services company. Previously, she spent four years as the CFO for Gaiam Inc., a leading producer of lifestyle media and fitness accessories. Vilia also served as CFO of Verio Inc., a $300 million worldwide web hosting company, and Vice President of Corporate Express, a $4 billion international office products company. In 2009, she was named "CFO of the Year" for public companies by the Denver Business Journal. Vilia earned a bachelor's degree from Colorado State University.

 

 

What inspires me?

My caring husband and adventurous daughters. Laughter. A walk on the beach. The smell of fresh mountain air. A stroll through Central Park. Admiring old castles, churches and works of art. Sharing these experiences with my family and friends.

Ira Bahr

Chief Marketing Officer

Ira oversees all customer acquisition, customer communications and channel marketing activities at Inspirato. Prior to joining Inspirato, Ira was the CMO at DISH Network, the third largest provider of pay television in the U.S. with more than 14 million subscribers. Previously, he served as the Senior Vice President of Marketing, Alliances and Communications at Sirius Satellite Radio, where he held the notable distinction for naming the company after the brightest star in the night sky. Ira began his career at BBDO, one of the world's largest advertising agencies, rising to the roles of Senior Vice President and Worldwide Account Director and working with such clients as FedEx, Pepsi-Cola and General Electric. Ira earned a bachelor's degree from Columbia University.

 

What inspires me?

Courage. The confidence to risk everything against the outcome of your own ideas.

Mendy Charlton

SVP, Marketing

Mendy is responsible for all brand marketing and advertising, and is the editor of the Inspirato magazine. Prior to joining Inspirato, Mendy was a senior sales and marketing leader at Estee Lauder for 12 years. She began her career with the $4 billion cosmetic giant as Marketing Director for the Pacific Northwest region. She later served as Regional Vice President for the south central U.S. and ultimately became the company's Vice President of Sales and Marketing for North America, driving $1 billion in sales and contributing 40 percent of global sales. Mendy earned a bachelor's degree in psychology from Colorado State University.

 

What inspires me?

Conversations with my 13-year-old niece. Life-long friends. Helping my nephew become a cowboy. Looking like love and living like grace.

Christian Toraldo

Managing Director, International

Christian is responsible for building the Inspirato brand internationally. He oversees all international strategic initiatives, business development, sales and marketing. Christian began his career as one of the first employees at Exclusive Resorts, opened the company's offices in New York City and became Exclusive Resorts' top salesperson. He continued his career in luxury real estate as Director at Palazzo Tornabuoni in Florence, Italy - one of the most exclusive residence clubs and real estate developments in Europe. Christian earned a bachelor's degree from the University of Virginia and an MBA from Columbia Business School. 

 

What inspires me?

Photography. Submerging myself in new cultures (Nepal, Morocco and India are my favorites). A perfect day of surfing with my brother. Waist-deep powder in Vail.

David Craig

VP, Member Services

David is responsible for creating an exceptional Inspirato experience for members from beginning to end. He oversees the Personal Vacation Advisors team dedicated to ensuring that Inspirato members' vacation dreams become reality. David brings approximately 25 years in the hospitality industry to his role at Inspirato. Previously, David spent nine years as general manager of Hotel Teatro, one of the country's premier luxury boutique hotels, located in Denver, Colo. He has also managed properties in Snowmass Village, Colo., and Hyannis, Mass. David earned a bachelor's degree from Hobart College and has been a guest lecturer at the University of Denver and Cape Cod Community College.

 

What inspires me?

A winter horseback ride in the Colorado wilderness. Watching early morning haze burn off a secluded tropical beach. A vacation that challenges both mind and body. Watching my children play for hours on the East Coast surf. Experiencing new foods in an exotic locale. The kind of vacation where you bring a stack of books (or a Kindle!).

Jackie Benton

Executive Director, Inspired Giving

Jackie is the Executive Director of Inspired Giving, Inspirato's philanthropic initiative to support charitable causes around the world. Jackie brings more than 20 years of leadership, strategic planning and business development experience to Inspirato. She began her career in Washington, D.C., at Hill+Knowlton, one of the largest worldwide public relations agencies. Jackie later helped cultivate two software and e-commerce start-up ventures before moving to Aspect Software, a half-billion-dollar global provider of customer contact solutions. During her 10-year tenure at Aspect, Jackie's sales leadership helped grow market share through clients such as AT&T, Western Union and McKesson. Jackie graduated from the University of Kansas with a bachelor's degree in communications.

 

What inspires me?

My family. The beautiful and amazing places I have seen in the world. My daughter's voice filling up our home with song. Individuals that dedicate their lives to helping others. The way my brother sings karaoke with complete abandon!

Katherine Strauss

VP, Public Relations

Katherine is responsible for all of Inspirato's public relations and corporate communication activities. She began her career as a researcher and editor at the Freedom Forum Media Studies Center in New York City. Later, as a freelance journalist, Katherine spent many years reporting for such national outlets as ABC News, MTV News, Newsweek and SELF. Her work as a journalist led her to Rome, Italy, where she served as a consultant and communication manager for two United Nations agencies for five years. Prior to joining Inspirato, Katherine managed her own international PR and consulting firm. Katherine earned a master's degree from the Annenberg School for Communication at the University of Southern California, a bachelor's degree from Columbia University and studied for a year at the London School of Economics.

 

What inspires me?

New experiences and opportunities for learning. The 50-plus countries logged in my passport - and so much of the planet still to explore. My husband's selflessness. The encompassing roar and intensity of a talented rock band. Honest, thought-provoking conversation. Good writing. Riding my bicicleta through the streets of Rome. The adventure of life.

Brandon Vogt

VP, Technology

Brandon is responsible for Inspirato's core technology and systems, and is involved in the design and architecture of all internal systems and Web platforms. Brandon became Inspirato's second employee in 2010, joining the company from Vail Resorts, where he played a key role in the redesign of Vail's e-commerce platform. Earlier, as a senior developer at Exclusive Resorts, Brandon worked closely with the company's concierge team to improve all travel-related systems. He began his career as a senior developer and analyst at Sirenza Microdevices, a manufacturer of radio frequency components, working largely on defense-related projects. Brandon graduated from the University of Northern Colorado with a bachelor's degree in computer information systems.

What inspires me?
Strength displayed humbly. Country roads and AM radios. The coordination and care in my wife. Snow falling softly. The Blue Sky basin. Handwritten notes (especially from my kids). Pairing the right technologies to form a swell new riff.

Matt Stueve

VP, Inspirato Labs

Matt leads the company's new technical innovation division -- "Inspirato Labs" -- which is dedicated to research and development and providing the best user experience in the industry. Matt brings more than 15 years of Internet application development experience to Inspirato. Most recently, he was the Technical Director for RTP Interactive, a leading interactive agency in the resort and hospitality industry. Previous stints as lead developer at Vail Resorts and Exclusive Resorts perfected Matt's unique understanding of the discriminating needs of destination travelers. Earlier, he was a senior analyst at Raytheon Polar Services Company. Matt earned a bachelor's degree from the University of Iowa.

What inspires me?

My family. Spending as much time as possible with my wife and dog in the mountains of Colorado. Amazing user experiences. A freshly-tuned snowboard. Cooking for friends. Working with incredible talent. Disrupting the status quo.
