A Quietly Sophisticated Colorado Ski Town

Nestled in the heart of Colorado's central Rocky Mountain range, Beaver Creek is a quieter, less-crowded alternative to Vail—with just as much sophistication and beauty. Like Vail, the village borrows architectural stylings from Europe, specifically Switzerland’s St. Moritz and Italy’s Cortina. Skiers here enjoy the finer things: Escalators effortlessly whisk them from the village to the slopes and warm chocolate chip cookies—served up alfresco on a platter by a concierge—await when they finish their final runs. In the warmer months, hiking and mountain biking trails reveal aspen glades, vibrant wildflowers, and sweeping alpine views.

Destination Highlights

  • Skiing and Snowboarding

Beaver Creek Mountain spans more than 1,800 acres of terrain with three distinct base areas and more than 150 runs for all skill levels, accessible via 23 chairlifts. The slopes are hardly ever crowded, which gives you plenty of room to spread out and enjoy the fresh air.

  • Hiking Trails

When the snow finally melts off the slopes in late spring, Beaver Creek is a hiker’s paradise with more than 62 miles of alpine trails connecting the resort’s three villages: Beaver Creek Village, Bachelor Gulch, and Arrowhead.

  • Beaver Creek Golf Club

Designed by Robert Trent Jones, Jr., this 18-hole championship golf course is nestled in the canyon leading to the village and is surrounded by the spectacular peaks of the Gore Range.

  • Forecasting Your Beaver Creek Vacation

Because of Beaver Creek’s elevation (the town sits at 8,100 feet above sea level), the ski town enjoys ample snowfall in the winter months, which typically blankets the slopes in fresh powder from November through early April. There are plenty of bluebird winter days with bright sunshine. In the summer, warm breezes often usher in afternoon rain and you can expect a slight chill when the sun sets.
