An Inside Look: Sushi in Los Cabos

The premier sushi spot in Los Cabos is Nick-San, which chef-owners Angel Carbajal and Masayuki Niikura opened in downtown in 1994. Since then, the original has doubled in size, and locations have been added in San José del Cabo, Nuevo Vallarta, and Mexico City. The growth was made possible by a clientele who love to come here to drink warm sake and dine on dishes such as sashimi salad, baked scallops with stone crab, and oyster curry yaki. Nick-San is outstanding.

Member Favorite: El Restaurante at Esperanza

More and more, we recommend "El Restaurante" to Inspirato members because of the overwhelmingly great reviews. More formally known as Cocina del Mar, this oceanfront, open-air restaurant is convenient to all of our residences. The Argentinian chef brings a South American flair to the fresh seafood selections like Baja lobster risotto and sumac-rubbed Bluefin Tuna. El Restaurante is open for lunch and dinner.

Tacos Gardenias is our pick in Cabo because of their excellent fish and shrimp tacos. The molcajetes are great for sharing. You're sure to see a number of locals feasting here.

Best place for a romantic dinner

For a special night, ask your Destination Concierge to make reservations at El Farallón at Capella Pedregal. You get to choose your fresh catch for dinner. We recommend the tuna prepared as sashimi for a starter, and then pan seared as your main entrée.

But once she tasted Baja California Sur flavors, she began developing a fusion of the styles. Today her distinct cuisine fuels Cabo's best restaurant at Edith's. Situated right on Medano Beach with spectacular views, Edith's offers a warm atmosphere of palapas, lanterns and colonial touches. The food preparations look simple in explanation but deliver subtle and complex flavors that must be tasted to understand.
