Member Memory: Basilic
"Our concierge told us that Basilic was the place to escape the crowds and feast on Swiss French cuisine, and she was right. There are only 24 seats, so it was great that she could make reservations for us on short notice. We had the five-course prix fixe menu with wine pairings, and it was to die for. The best part though was how unhurried everything was-no fuss, perfect service. Well, that and the chocolate part of the dessert trio."
The Local Favorites
Best place for a romantic dinner
Definitely Andrea at Pelican Hill, a spectacular Northern Italian venue occupying a lofty, Mediterranean-style portico overlooking the Pacific. Dine al fresco at sunset for a night you'll remember forever.
Best bar scene with food
The hip crowd in Newport now trends toward Bandera to sip cocktails and enjoy casually delicious American fare. Take your pick from selections like jambalaya and prime rib while you kick back to jazzy music and people-watching.
Inspirato Presents: The Meal You'll Remember
The Resort at Pelican Hill is undeniably modern, yet there's something timeless and classic in the perfect service that accompanies guests at every step. In that vein, we highly recommend you take an evening to enjoy a classic steakhouse: Mastro's Ocean Club. In its elegant dining room, Mastro's focuses on the service steps and heralded cuisine of a dinner to remember. Start with appetizers such as caviar, escargot, Oysters Rockefeller or Alaskan crab legs. Feast on a perfectly cooked steak and a bold red wine. Complete the meal with a rich dessert. Mastro's is the place to live large and enjoy a meal that signifies vacation.
