Concierge Pick: Bamboo
This sophisticated venue at Tortuga Bay is a treat for those who like their food and wine with a side of design: The elegant interior space, featuring contemporary plantation-style furnishing and crisp, white linens, was conceived by none other than Oscar de la Renta - and the inventive Mediterranean cuisine will certainly not disappoint.
Soles Chill Out Bar
Occupying a prime stretch of shoreline, this open-air, timber-frame restaurant and bar is one of the best spots in Punta Cana to enjoy a casual meal. Grab a table by the covered bar when the sun is high, or claim a spot on one of the plush, oceanfront Bali beds as the day slips into dusk. Time your visit for the weekend or late at night, when a rotating selection of DJs and local bands add an international soundtrack to the experience.
Whether you select a table in the open-air dining room, or beachfront beneath an intimate palapa, this delectable seafood venue along Playa Bávaro is dressed to impress. The service is top-notch, and fresh, locally caught menu offerings - including crawfish, conch, and the mouthwatering house lobster - make for a memorable, oceanfront meal.
Inspirato Presents: The Meal You'll Remember
Located at Sivory Punta Cana, Gourmand actually exceeds the potential of its name. The emphasis is on the classical French techniques perfected by Chef Denis Jaricot, a Lyon native, with a dash of Caribbean influence as well. The service matches Jaricot's exacting standards; Gourmand has an 8,000-bottle wine list, and your server will know which to recommend. Despite the classic bend, menu items are very creative; consider the dried breaded poached egg atop a confit of spinach and leeks with red pepper coulis, dill cloud and pesto droplets as an example first course, and the grilled sea bass with creamy pumpkin risotto as an entrée. Parisians would approve of the impeccable dishes here. And you'll remember it as one of the finest meals you've ever had.
