Inspirato Expands Vacation Options to Include a Luxury, Members-Only Mediterranean Cruise
DENVER (July 11, 2012) - Members of the private destination club Inspirato can now count a seven-night, luxury Mediterranean cruise among the vacation options available to them through their club membership. The company announced today that they have partnered with small-ship cruise line Silversea, recognized as a "World's Best" by Condé Nast Traveler and Travel + Leisure, to design the intimate, members-only cruise, which will include stops at world-class ports along the Italian, French and Spanish Rivieras.
"Silversea epitomizes luxury and sophistication, which made them the perfect partner for us," said Brent Handler, founder and CEO of Inspirato. "This will not be your standard cruise. Every detail has been designed with our members in mind to meet their high expectations. It's going to be a spectacular trip."
Because Inspirato was able to design the custom itinerary, passengers will visit the most sought-after European ports all in one trip. The week-long, Mediterranean voyage, which is scheduled for late July 2013, will begin in Civitavecchia (Rome), Italy, and includes stops in Cinque Terre, Italy; Portofino, Italy; Monte Carlo, Monaco; Nice, France; Saint-Tropez, France; and Marseille, France before docking in Barcelona, Spain.
Unlike ships used for today's mega-cruises, which can weigh up to 225,000 tons and carry upwards of 5,000 passengers at a time,Silversea's Silver Wind weighs just 17,400 tons and will carry fewer than 300 Inspirato members and their guests. Passengers will enjoy one of the highest space-per-guest ratios of any luxury cruise accommodations and stately, spacious suites, all with ocean views and most with private verandas. The Silversea ship is also able to call at harbors inaccessible to larger ships and can dock right in the heart of cities.
While on board, passengers will enjoy personalized butler service, gourmet dining, world-class facilities, and a staff-to-guest ratio of nearly one to one. Inspirato will also provide special events during the voyage, including uniquely designed shore excursions and deck parties.
"In addition to the amazing parties and excursions we are planning, one thing that makes this cruise so special is that it's only available to our members and their guests," said Handler. "By design, cruises foster a sense of community and camaraderie, particularly on a small ship like this, and that's a key aspect of being part of our club."
The Silversea Mediterranean cruise joins a finely curated selection of Inspirato vacation adventure options currently available to its members, including an African safari, a Galapagos Islands voyage, a guided excursion of Machu Picchu, a backcountry tour of Patagonia, and a Rocky Mountain escape at the C Lazy U Ranch in Colorado.
