First opened in 1930, the luxurious Pierre has recently completed a $100 million renovation by India-based Taj Hotels Resorts and Palaces. In a nod to its new owners, the Pierre has added contemporary Indian artwork, but classic New York style endures. Its famous copper and bronze tower makes the Pierre instantly recognizable in the city skyline, while interior spaces like the Grand Ballroom and the Rotunda are just as iconic. Dine at the newly reopened Rotunda, the Pierre’s signature room, featuring Renaissance style trompe l’oeil murals by American artist Edward Melcarth and reimagined by interior designer Daniel Romualdez.
