Things to Do

Just outside Inspirato’s hotel partner The Cape is one of the best hidden gems for surfing in Los Cabos.

“One of the best surf spots in Cabo! Highly recommended to any surfer! There are really good waves a stone’s throw from the property. I had no clue until I got there. Very happy I brought my surfboard and I didn’t have to drive at all!”

—Quay Snyder, Inspirato Member

Getting out on the water is a must-do for any vacation in Los Cabos. Members have loved full- and half-day boat charters, many of which include on-board amenities such as drinks, snacks, and water sports equipment. Member Shannon Hoffman had a fantastic experience on the water: “A couple of highlights from our trip: private sail/snorkel/whale watching tour on the incredible Zig Zag catamaran where we were treated like VIPs by the amazing crew. Definitely recommend!”

“Another yacht charter aboard “Grey” through Land’s End Charters. Chef is still amazing and cooked a great lunch on board. Anchored off One&Only Palmilla and swam and used the toys from the boat.”

Beyond famous beaches and energetic nightlife, there’s a more authentic side to Los Cabos. Specifically, members like Christopher R. Holland have found a glimpse into Mexican culture in the quieter city of San Jose del Cabo: “We enjoyed San Jose del Cabo (more rustic) and the Thursday night Art Walk is a must.”

Member Keith Henderson had similar things to say: “San Jose del Cabo is worth the trip, different in types of stores and shops. More galleries and authentic Mexican shops versus the more tourist-focused Cabo.”

Member Michael Ellison and his group of 10 travelers stayed active with zip lines, snorkeling, ATV tours, and more:

Inspirato Residences

Inspirato offers more than a dozen residences across the Esperanza Resort and the Punta Ballena Resort Community.

“We loved Costero and can’t wait to go back. Fabulous location, beautiful views- we hated to leave the house! Our destination planner & concierge were both so helpful & responsive to any requests. It was a wonderful vacation.”

—Susie Barnett, Inspirato Member

Member Sarah Bangert stayed in one of the club’s villas located with the Auberge Private Residences at Esperanza. “Our first trip with Inspirato at Esperanza was fabulous. Our group of four adults and three kids 9-13 enjoyed every minute of our stay,” she wrote. “The concierge team did a great job arranging for transportation, activities, dinner reservations and chef services.”

Hotel and resort partners

Inspirato Members can stay in beautiful rooms and suites at two award-winning properties: The Cape and Grand Solmar Land’s End Resort & Spa.

“The Cape is a wonderful property located between San Jose and Cabo San Lucas,” member Ryan Dietz wrote. “We stayed in a Junior Suite and I suggest you do the same unless you need the larger accommodations. The Junior Suites are located in the main hotel building and they face south so you do not get the blinding and hot setting sun in the afternoon. It was roomy, clean, and the view was spectacular.”

“I have been vacationing in Cabo for more than 30 years and there is simply no doubt that our experience at The Cape was among the best I have ever had. The rooftop bar was really nice as well. Very unique as I am unsure there is anything like it anywhere else in Cabo.

PS. Best cucumber and jalapeno margarita ever!”

—Ryan Dietz, Inspirato Member

Member Jody Levinson stayed at the Grand Solmar, and had equally great things to say. “Grand Solmar is a fabulous resort. The property is beautiful. It’s a great location. It’s an easy walk to the marina and to town,” she wrote. “The Grand Master Suite is the perfect size for two people. There is a full kitchen, so you can get groceries and cook in the unit. The view from the balcony is spectacular, to include watching the whales breaching! All of the resort staff is very helpful and friendly. The concierge staff is very knowledgeable about restaurants and things to do. All of the restaurants on the property were very good – good selections and prices were reasonable. I highly recommend this resort. We look forward to returning.”

Food and Drink

Los Cabos is home to a seemingly endless number of excellent restaurants, ranging from stunning fine dining establishments to charming, authentic eateries. Members also regularly take advantage of in-residence breakfasts and private chefs who prepare amazing meals right in members’ own kitchens.

“Really enjoyed our dinner at Los Tres Gallos, as well as Agua at the One&Only Palmilla. Private Chef Moises cooked an amazing meal. Tequila tasting at Esperanza with the head sommelier. Great tasting of Don Julio 1942, Clase Azul Repsosado, and a few others including a Mezcal. Snacks and appetizers were included as well.”

—Ritam Bhalla, Inspirato Member

“Concierge can offer some great restaurant suggestions and one of our favorites was Flora Farms (San Jose del Cabo). Outstanding food, fantastic craft cocktails with farm fresh ingredients, and a really cool location. For a quick bite (think tacos, small plates, and even pancakes), a cool location is the Mercado on the way to San Jose del Cabo … it’s a collection of small stall restaurants so something for everyone. Plus, there’s a small high end grocery, wine store, and butcher on site as well.”

—Christopher R. Holland, Inspirato Member

“Our cook/housekeeper was wonderful and prepared the most delicious breakfasts each morning. Also, dinner at the villa with El Itakate – the most incredible food prepared by professional chefs in your villa.  A fantastic way to end a fun-filled day of golfing, sunning and exploring.  We hope to make this trip an annual event!”

—Shannon Hoffman, Inspirato Member

“We had a very special week. Daily breakfast in the Villa is terrific and highly recommended. Our concierge was outstanding. Toro, La Palapa, and Cocina Del Mar restaurants were excellent. Cocina Del Mar is a dining experience (2.5-3 hours for 10 people). Plan on spending at least one entire afternoon at the pool and restaurant at Punta Ballena Club.”

Tips and Suggestions

Inspirato’s Member Care and Destination Concierge teams are at members’ service to offer suggestions before members travel and while they’re on-site. But fellow members have offered plenty of helpful tips for maximizing a trip to Los Cabos based on their own experiences.

“The biggest thing you can do for members at The Cape is to “highly recommend” the all-inclusive purchase prior to arrival – $89 versus $140 on site. I usually don’t like or am very skeptical of all-inclusive options. This is the one place that takes all-inclusive to the highest level. The restaurants in this resort are amazing and if you drink alcohol, you’ll get your money back in less than 6 drinks.”

—Jerry Parsons, Inspirato Member

“Do yourself a favor and have breakfast made. Total cost for us was about $90. Better food and much less than going to a restaurant. Trips to the stores will cost you about $30 each way. I suggest saving time and money and have the place stocked when you arrive.”

—Joseph Santora, Inspirato Member

“If you are not renting a car, I would definitely have the hotel or concierge arrange transportation from the airport to the resort.  The airport was “crazy” when we arrived.”

—Jody Levinson, Inspirato Member

This was our first Inspirato trip as a member and it was fantastic. From the planning team to the onsite concierge, everything was easy and just as we hoped. The house was great and the resort is beautiful. Several other Inspirato guests were at the resort and it was nice to meet other members and hear about their experiences. Will definitely return!
