What It’s Like on Inspirato’s Private Luxury Caribbean Catamarans Experience

As the way we travel continues to evolve in 2021 and beyond, Inspirato is striving to evolve with it—and the launch of our Luxury Caribbean Catamarans experience last year has proved particularly timely.

According to a recent Condé Nast Traveler article, private yachting is on the rise. And it’s only going to become more prevalent as the travel industry rebounds as a whole. The appeal is clear, even in a post-COVID world: a private, secluded getaway with just you, the crew, and your favorite people onboard.

“Chartering a yacht is a way to get away from everyone, a bubble that provides people with a safe place to holiday,” said Scott Macahonic, the charter captain interviewed in the article. “They have their own chef onboard and everything imaginable.”

Inspirato members can experience the magic for themselves with one of our exclusive luxury catamaran experiences. Choose from three specially curated itineraries throughout the Caribbean: British Virgin Islands, U.S. Virgin Islands, and Spanish Virgin Islands. The all-inclusive charters offer some incredible perks, like gourmet meals featuring local ingredients paired with handcrafted cocktails—picture an al fresco meal amid tranquil waters as the sun sets slowly over the horizon.

This past November, Inspirato member Melony H. and her family booked a four-bedroom catamaran for a seven-day getaway in the U.S. Virgin Islands.

“What appealed most to me about the experience was the privacy, safety from COVID, and personalized service,” she said. “The catamaran was gorgeous and comfortable. And the weather in the U.S. Virgin Islands was perfect over Thanksgiving week.”

She and her family loved making use of the jet ski. (Each vessel comes equipped with watersports equipment, like stand-up paddleboards, a water trampoline, and kayaks.) She also loved seeing sea critters while sailing and anchored.

Throughout the week, the catamaran stopped at several different iconic Caribbean ports, like Charlotte Amalie on St. Thomas and Caneel Bay on St. John.

“My favorite port was St. Croix—there are so many restaurants to choose from and great shopping, and there’s cool history as it’s where Alexander Hamilton lived for a while,” she said.

Melony also appreciated the crew’s professionalism and attention to detail.

“The crew of two does a fabulous job at personalizing service and involving guests in as much or little as they want to know about sailing, snorkeling, or anything else,” she said.
