In July 2016, Inspirato Members got a slice of the Mediterranean as they sailed aboard the Silver Spirit on our exclusive, members-only Venice to Rome cruise. The voyage stopped in some of the Mediterranean’s most beloved and up-and-coming ports of call – Croatia, Montenegro, Sicily, and more – but one region seemed to truly enchant members and their guests: Italy’s breathtaking Amalfi Coast, home to the town of Positano.

Positano was a truly beautiful location with wonderful boutiques and vine covered walkways… Just beautiful which is why we will be back next year!

We suggest spending as much time in Positano as possible, but if you find yourself there for a weekend, we’ve outlined an itinerary for the perfect 36 hours in this Italian gem – a brand new addition to the Inspirato portfolio.

Day 1

4 p.m. – Check in to your gorgeous Inspirato Residence. After a day of travel, rest up on the expansive, open-air terrace, soaking in panoramic views out over the Mediterranean Sea. Inside, a large kitchen, five spacious bedrooms, and breezy living areas feature Italian character.

8 p.m. – Most Italians go out for dinner around this time, so you’ll fit right in with the locals when you head into town for a bite. Positano and the surrounding towns boast multiple Michelin-starred restaurants, charming trattorias, and fresh seafood on just about every corner.

Day 2

9 a.m. – After breakfast on the sweeping patio, hire a car or water taxi and hit the beach. Dozens of beaches line the Amalfi Coast, each one a serene destination in its own right. Marina Grande is Positano’s main beach area, featuring private and public beaches. Other popular spots include Fornillo Beach and Arienzo Beach.

1 p.m. – Have lunch at one of Marina Grande’s beachfront restaurants, then keep the sun-soaked fun going, eventually ending your beach day in the town of Amalfi. In addition to great beaches, the town also features historic sites, shopping, and entertainment.

Day 3

10 a.m. – Check out of your residence; as you make your way out of town, this is the perfect time to take a day trip en route home or to your next destination. The legendary Isle of Capri, known for its stunning rocky scenery, is an easy boat ride off the coast. Alternatively, stay on the mainland and tour the many ancient landmarks in the area. Famous sites in Naples and Pompeii are easy to reach.

Inspirarto help my family rent a chartered boat for a day tour around the island of Capri, starting with a morning trip into the Blue Grato. It was a stunning day of beauty that we will never forget and we would strongly recommend it as a wonderful way to spend a day.
