Many of us have been dreaming of an international vacation since spring. And though there are plenty of incredible domestic destinations to visit, there’s something special about breaking out that passport to make a trip a little more exciting.

We’ve compiled seven countries around the world that Americans can travel to right now—some of them you can even visit with Inspirato. (P.S. Don’t forget to check our destination status page to get the latest updates.)

A favorite among Inspirato members, Mexico is open for visitors. Americans can currently fly to this colorful country, although its physical border remains closed. Opt for lively Los Cabos or the calm coast of Punta de Mita.

French Polynesia

The white-sand beaches of this archipelago offer a tempting retreat amid the chaos of 2020. Americans can visit the picturesque French Polynesian islands of Bora Bora and Tahiti with a negative COVID-19 test within 72 hours prior to departure.

We know–you thought Europe was totally off limits to Americans right now. Although that’s technically true, countries within the European Union can choose to ignore its recommendations, and that’s exactly what Croatia’s done. Visit the country’s picturesque Dalmatian Coast to get a feel for Croatia’s colorful culture.

(Note: Although Croatia is an Inspirato destination, it’s not yet open to book with us just yet—keep checking back for more updates on our European destinations.)

Dominican Republic

Discover the laid-back lifestyle of the Dominican Republic with a trip to the sprawling resort  community of Casa de Campo or the golden beaches of Punta Cana. And it’s no longer required to submit a negative COVID-19 test before arriving—airport officials will give breath tests to no more than 10% of an incoming flight’s passengers.

Turks and Caicos

The warm, crystal-clear waters of this island paradise await: Turks and Caicos is currently accepting American visitors, and you’re probably just as in need of a tropical getaway as we are. You’ll be set to go with a negative COVID-19 test.

The chaos of the past year might seem a little farther away with a visit to this historic country. Dive deep into the wonders of the pyramids, myriad museums, and the storied Nile with a trip to Egypt—all you’ll need is a negative COVID-19 test within the last 72 hours (paper copies only—digital proof won’t be accepted).

Costa Rica

Wildlife-rich rainforests and white-sand beaches await in this tropical paradise. The Cacique Peninsula is known for its sunny shores (even during the rainy season) and warm weather, while Peninsula Papagayo provides unparalleled luxury. Americans from certain states can currently travel to Costa Rica with provision of a negative COVID-19 test within 72 hours prior to arrival.
