Reconnect with These Guys’ Trip, Girls’ Trip, or Couple’s Trip Ideas

As we work to regain the ground we lost in 2020, trips with the people we love are becoming even more of a priority—especially with people we haven’t seen in a long time. And even though many of us have been quarantining with significant others, isn’t a change of scenery always a welcome refresh?

Whether it’s a long-awaited girl’s trip, a getaway with the guys, or a couple’s romantic retreat, we’ve got you covered. Below, we’ve recommended three unexpected trips for Inspirato members to take with those special people in their lives—read on to get some inspiration for your next getaway.

Girls’ trip to Kiawah Island

The laid-back and charming South Carolina Lowcountry is the perfect place to gather your girls for a reunion getaway. On picturesque Kiawah Island, stay at Sabal or Azalea, both just a quick bike ride from the beach with plenty of room for your group. Speaking of bikes, take full advantage of nearby quick and easy bike rentals—your concierge can set everything up, and they’ll be dropped right off and ready to go at the home—and ride the island’s more than 30 miles of trails.

Unwind with a spa day at the nearby Sanctuary resort’s spa, offering soothing treatments inspired by the botanicals of the beach—we recommend the Southern Classic massage, featuring hand-selected aromatherapy. Plus, Kiawah is also just a quick drive to downtown Charleston. Your girls will love a night on the town, and the pastel homes of Rainbow Row don’t make for a bad Instagram backdropm, either.

Guys’ trip to Punta de Mita

A golf mecca and deep-sea fishing paradise, Punta de Mita offers plenty for your group of guys to do while you destress from work and soak in the Mexican sun. With a stay at one of the expansive villas at Los Veneros Resort, like Casa Emilia or Las Terrazas—each with its own private pool—you’ll be within easy driving distance of Litibu Golf Course, a Greg Norman-designed offering beautiful views of the Mexican coastline.

When it comes to getting out on the water, nearby Puerto Vallarta is also a world-class fishing destination. Within the bay and further out in the Pacific, there are snapper, grouper, mahi mahi, roosterfish, and more. Depending on the length of trip you’d like to take—ranging from four hours to 12 hours—you may even find marlin and sailfish. If your trip proves to be fruitful, the chefs at the neighboring W Hotel are happy to prepare your catch.

Couple’s trip to San Francisco

The City by the Bay, with its iconic vistas and world-famous landmarks, makes for the perfect romantic getaway for you and your partner—especially if you’ve been cooped up in the same house for the past year. Stretch your legs along its famed hills, like the ever-photographed Lombard Street. And with a stay at Ganache or Cocoa, two cozy apartments right near Ghirardelli Square, you’ll be within walking distance of Fisherman’s Wharf—because you’ll be so close, why not indulge in the square’s namesake chocolate, too?

For appetizers and classic tiki cocktails with a touch of camp, head to the Tonga Room, tucked within the Fairmont San Francisco, complete with novelty mugs and a thatch-covered floating barge. (Fake thunder and lighting roll though periodically, too). Stroll hand in hand through the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art, or visit the famed Haight-Ashbury neighborhood, keeping an eye out for treasures within the myriad thrift shops. And although we know it’s a little touristy, take the ferry to Alcatraz Island, if only just for the jaw-dropping view of the city skyline.
