Location

Mauna Lani is located on the Kohala Coast of the Big Island of Hawaii. The resort is 23 miles north of the Kona International Airport (KOA) and it’s an easy, 25-minute drive. The hotel’s concierge can help with ground transportation; however, you may want to rent a car to take full advantage of everything the island of Hawaii has to offer. We recommend renting a car through club partner Avis. Inspirato members receive exclusive benefits through the invitation-only Avis President’s Club.

We had a wonderful visit, and the staff could not have been nicer! They responded quickly to our requests and followed up with appropriate communication.

Small Rooms and limited facility space

Our room was small and showed signs of wear. The facility space was too small for the number of guests using it. There was never room at the pool or beach to be. On the other hand, the hotel facility was pretty and the restaurant (Canoe House) was amazing. The spa was small but the massage was good. Room service would at times just not answer their phones. Overall I would not stay at the Auberge in mauna Lani again. When this was relayed to the Team Southwest, they said (basically) you should have called us when you were there. So that response really made a bad situation worse. I did not feel supported at all!

This was an amazing trip!

The concierge team was so helpful with our trip planning. We did almost all of the activities they recommended and every single one was well worth it! But leave yourself time to relax at the beach in between activities. With the activities and the relaxation, this trip had a little bit of everything for every age.

Great resort and service!

The room was really nice. It appears to have been remodeled, but didn't give off that remodel vibe. All the staff were very, Very nice and helpful. We traveled to the Four Seasons Lanai last year and this blew it away. The adult pool was very quiet and private. Only two negatives of the trip would be that the service at the adult pool was very slow and the pricing on food as a whole throughout the resort was on the higher side.

Old Property Attempting to be New

Not great for a couples getaway, nothing quiet or serene about the property. It is an updated property that they tried to put some modern touches on, but the old bones still remain. The rooms are simple, with very few amenities compared to other chains (four seasons, rosewood, montage, etc) However, it is a paradise for kids! They have tons of activities and you will hear kids screaming, all day long, living their best life! Service over all was pretty good. Food was average. However, some great local restaurants just a cab ride away. Recommend renting a car as the cabs are very expensive for one way and Uber is not readily available.
