Location

The city of Milan has three airports: Milano Malpensa Airport (MXP) is about an hour's drive away from Grand Hotel Tremezzo, while Milano Linate Airport (LIN) and Il Caravaggio “Orio al Serio” International Airport (BGY) are both about an hour and 40 minutes away.

Switzerland's Lugano Agno (LUG) regional airport is about an hour's drive. Guests can take a train and boat or car to reach Lake Como and Grand Hotel Tremezzo, and the hotel can help arrange a private luxury car service. To take advantage of everything Lake Como has to offer, we recommend renting a car through club partner Avis.

Incredible

We absolutely loved staying at Hotel Tremezzo. It is incredibly beautiful, and the location is perfect. The breakfast buffet was jaw dropping - so many delicious options and so beautiful. We especially loved a half day on one of their boats including lunch at Passalacqua and we enjoyed hiking to the Church of San Martino. Bellagio was too crowded, and we were not there during high season.

Magical Hotel

Our stay at the Grand Hotel Tremezzo on Lake Como was like being in a movie set. The hotel was exquisite, the decor outstanding, the service top-notch and the location can't be beat.

Gorgeous and Opulent!

This is a gorgeous facility that really strives to provide 5 star service. We found the lake view room very small, especially compared to the garden view rooms others in our party enjoyed. The spa staff and services were great! The concierge was very responsive. They were unable to provide an itinerary, which seemed surprising at this type of a facility. We were unable to enjoy all the restaurants, as we were told they were at capacity...even with advance requests. Some restaurants that were supposed to serve food at certain times would say there was no service when you showed up and/or the service would be so slow we would have to repeatedly go up and ask for a server...including service at the pool, which was quite slow and often times they would never return for the dirty dishes. The breakfast buffet is extensive and included. However, I found the dining aspect the most disappointing of everything. The best service or food that we received was at the seafood restaurant by the lakeside pool. We would have preferred a private villa, however, were unable to make the dates work with other Inspirato properties. It was nice to have amenities on site, however, annoying that not all services were running smoothly.

Perfect Elegance and Luxury on Beautiful Lake Como

The Lake itself is jaw-droppingly beautiful as the Pre Alps cliffs descend straight down into the lake. Grand Tremezzo is a grand dame hotel that's been updated and is well appointed. Lovely grounds, impeccable interiors, and three pools, along with smaller but not tiny rooms which are well-appointed. The hotel service was wonderful, and throughout the property, they get every detail just right. The vibe is more honeymoon esque, not a particularly social crowd nor is it a place that would be ideal for young families. We particularly enjoyed the boat tour (though will likely rent our own boat to explore when we return) and the easy excursions to Varenna and Bellagio. We spent lots of time at the upper pool and the lakeside "beach" pool. Very relaxing. Don't miss the Pizza restaurant by the upper pool. The one disappointing note was the quality of the food in the hotel restaurants (other than the Pizza bar). Very disappointing. Far better options outside the hotel. Also, we found our rental car to be unnecessary as the lake can easily be traversed by the easily accessed ferries in 10-20 minutes (Don't need the water taxis). Some great hiking in the hills, don't miss the St. Martino Church on the cliff above the hotel.
