Wonderful and Quiet Resort

Paradise Beach Resort is quiet, private, and very special place. We stayed in Villa 2 for 6 nights. Our group consisted of my husband and me, my parents, and three of our kids (18, 11 and 9 years old). The kitchen was stocked with cookware and utensils and we took advantage of the pre-arrival grocery shopping, which was so nice. The pre-planning with Camilla was excellent. I'm pretty sure we emailed her every day the weeks leading up to our trip with a question about something, and she was always very prompt and responsive. Because it was a resort and not an Inspirato home, all pre-planning was done through the resort concierge. I was nervous about this because we have had that go poorly in the past. Paradise Beach is exceptional. They work hard to provide for their guests, both before you arrive and during your stay. Someone checked in with us everyday about what our plan was and if we needed any dinner recommendations or reservations. Even all our transportation off the resort was handled seamlessly through the concierge.

We took advantage of the pool in the villa and the beach. The beach was mostly for playing games, kayaking, or other activities, not really lounging. Plenty of chairs to lounge in the sun at the villa though, so this was not an issue for us.

The food at the resort was good. We had breakfast included in our stay, but it wasn't explicit that it was only the "Continental Breakfast" option on the menu that was included. Also, several mornings we ordered the Continental Breakfast and were still charged and had to have the server take it off the bill. Just something to be aware of. Dinners were good but had only a few choices and were on the pricey side. We did have the chef come and cook dinner at our villa one night (for my daughter's birthday) and while they made a cake and it was special, we don't feel that it was worth what we paid for it. We never had lunch at the resort restaurant. We opted to eat at the villa with the groceries we had. Three members of our group did the rum tasting at the resort and thought it was great.

Our favorite restaurant was Bananas. It was in the trees a bit, but had a lovely Caribbean casual vibe. The menu had plenty of options, the service was great, and the food was delicious. Golden Rock was also another great off-resort restaurant option. A bit nicer than Bananas, and it was on the other side of the island, so we got to see Monserrat in the distance on our drive. It's in an old fort and, while it was the "fanciest" of the restaurants, it was the only one that had a kids menu! We did not care for Turtle Time (next to Sunshine's) at all. It is beach casual and we just didn't have good service or think the food was all that great.

For activities, by far our favorite was our private catamaran charter through Leeward Charters. We spent a day on the Spirit of St. Kitts with Captain Matt, Earl, and the rest of the crew. We felt like royalty. It was one of the best vacation days I've had, period. They stopped at a cove and everyone in our group jumped off the boat to swim, snorkeled, had a dance party, had a wonderful lunch on the beach in St. Kitts, and just got to relax and enjoy the unbelievable scenery of St. Kitts and Nevis. Best day. The historic walking tour of Nevis was also very enjoyable too, although less so for the kids. Derek was very knowledgeable and we walked around Charlestown and learned quite a bit about the history of the island. The tour ended at Alexander Hamilton's home, which was a hit with our younger kids. Adults got massages at the nearby Four Seasons Spa and everyone really liked their experience. The spa was tranquil and relaxing. My husband did a SCUBA dive and really enjoyed that as well.

My only suggestion to the resort is to have a decorative railing of some kind on the pathway from the villas down to the beach. It's steep to go up and steep to go down. I worried about my aging parents navigating it and didn't want anyone to fall.

Overall, a beautiful island and a beautiful resort with excellent service. You won't be disappointed.

An amazing week in Paradise...

Our family of seven enjoyed a relaxing week at Paradise Beach in Nevis. The island is a perfect place to relax and unwind. Nevis is a small island - we drove completely around the island in the span of an afternoon, stopping along the way for lunch and and a quick tour of the botanical gardens. The Paradise Beach grounds were beautiful, with tropical flowers and fruit trees shading our path to the beach. The beach area is as beautiful as the pictures make it seem, with a view of St. Kitts across the channel. We enjoyed the calm surf with water so clear you could see the bottom at what seemed to be 20 feet. We also found great snorkeling spots just down the beach, with sea turtles, a small octopus, sea stars and more varieties of fish than we could count. We were mostly looking for relaxation, but found plenty to do while we were there. The sailing trip with Miles was a highlight, along with a three hour hike to the waterfalls with Baba. We stayed at the Paradise Beach bar for most of our breakfasts and lunches, but found several great restaurants for dinners - the Gin Trap, Yachtsman and Sunshine’s were favorites. Our one lunch on the tour of the island was well worth the trip - Golden Rock is a beautiful spot in the hills about thirty minutes from Paradise Beach on the site of an old sugar plantation. Beautiful views, peaceful gardens and an excellent lunch made the trip worthwhile. During the day, we really didn’t want to leave our villa - the four bedroom had plenty of space for seven of us, with a nice size kitchen and a comfortable family room. The beds were extremely comfortable and the two outdoor showers were a fun luxury. The pool area was a great place to relax in the afternoon, with plenty of shade to keep out of the sun. Two afternoons we were joined by monkeys watching us from the walls. The best part of our week at Paradise Beach was the staff, from pre-planning with Camilla, daily reservations with the on-site concierges Kimoye and Scarlett, and all the staff at the beach bar. Everyone was friendly, helpful and seemed to enjoy helping everyone in our family have a good time. They called our 7 year old by name on the second day and had her lunch order figured out by the third day! And everyone was very helpful with our son who has mobility issues, offering rides to and from our villa and helping us find a beach wheelchair that made it possible for our family to go for walks on the beach. We were all sad to leave, but I expect we will find our way back to Paradise Beach.
