Beautiful Property and Amenities

There is much to admire about the Rosewood property in Santa Barbara, CA. Upon arrival we were greeted by enthusiastic staff who offered us a glass of bubbly while we checked in (it was Valentines Day). We had a little time to view the property before they texted to say our suite was ready. While the suites are not on the ocean they are tucked away in a charming little residential-looking area a short walk from the main lobby building. The suite itself was fabulous. It was well appointed and spacious. We found a little gift of chocolate-covered strawberries waiting for us. Once our staff left us we unpacked and then changed clothes more appropriate for the local weather and went out to view the property. It has a sort of retro, Gatsby look with a long open grass lawn down to the railroad crossing, complete with a crossing guard who ensures your safety when you cross the track and come upon the ocean front bar and restaurant. From there you walk down steps to the beach where there are lounge chairs available. We enjoyed three mornings of room service breakfasts and the food was remarkable. They clearly have a great chef. I would have liked to give the property 5 stars rather than 4, but there were some glitches in service. At times it was impossible to get any front desk staff to answer the phone. There was a snafu with trying to order room service one night. And while our Inspirato package came with $100 spa credit, when my wife wanted to use it she was told there would be no one offering the services on property the day she was available. (She declined to drive into town to use some local salon). It seems the management cared enough to take note of our feedback. So it was almost, but not quite, perfect. We would return if Santa Barbara was our intended destination but not too likely as there are many other places in the world we want to visit.
