Location

You’ll most likely fly into San Francisco International Airport (SFO) or Oakland International Airport (OAK). We recommend San Francisco, though you may encounter more traffic getting from the city to the valley. The drive from either airport is about one hour and 40 minutes. You may also wish to fly directly into the Charles M. Schulz–Sonoma County Airport (STS), conveniently located less than eight miles away from the inn. We recommend renting a car through Club partner Avis. Inspirato members receive exclusive benefits through the invitation-only Avis President’s Club.

Lovely spot and people

Make sure to book wine trips in advance, like we did. Also, have concierge book dining in advance. CA is opening up and demand is exceeding supply in many places.

Beautiful Base for Exploring Sonoma County!

The Farmhouse Inn was a perfect base for exploring Sonoma County, and would also be a lovely getaway for those who simply want to be in a beautiful setting with exceptional service. This inn is definitely geared more toward an adult getaway than for families traveling with children.

The key to our fabulous experience was Anna, the Farmhouse Inn concierge, who helped us with our planning and reservations well in advance of our arrival. She assisted with helping us choose restaurants, with careful detail to what else we had planned for the day, so that we would not have unreasonable drives after a day of touring wineries and other local sights. Anna also recommended Randall Kimps as a driver and guide for touring wineries. He was great, He specializes in boutique wineries, and we loved each one he selected. He also chose an out of the way diner where locals eat for lunch that we never would have found ourselves.

We visited several Inspirato Partners wineries and loved Tamber Bey and Three Sticks. Private complimentary tastings at each

We stayed in a One Bedroom Suite with a separate sitting area. It was very private, with its own entrance and patio. A two-sided fireplace provided warmth and coziness in the evenings whether you were in the bedroom or the patio. There were complimentary locally produced snacks in the room, and you can select beautiful handcrafted soaps and bath products each day.

A generous room credit for breakfast (which was delivered to your room) allowed us to start the day with a delicious feast. There is a lovely pool and a fire pit where the makings for s'mores are set out each evening and where you can meet other guests. There was also a spa, which looked beautiful though we were too busy touring to take advantage of it. The grounds are beautifully planted with lovely water features adding to the serene atmosphere.

There is a Michelin one-star restaurant on site. We may have hit it on an off-day, but it was not our favorite.

We would definitely return to the Farmhouse Inn on future visits to Sonoma.

Farm House Inn

I have been to California wine country a few times in the past but have not spent a lot of time on the Sonoma side. This was very fun and low key compared to Napa, which can be a little overwhelming and pretentious at times.

As for Farm House Inn, it was spectacular! The accommodations are lovely, the restaurant is world-class and the facilities are great. We loved the pool area as the temps were well over 100 degrees when we were there. The Farm Stand for food service at the pool was awesome.

What makes it the best however, is the staff. Teresa at the concierge desk was phenomenal in her restaurant choices and for setting us up with fantastic wine tastings. My wife and I told her what we liked and didn't like and she set us up for the entire weekend and we loved everything! We also enjoyed the fact that the owners were out and about at the happy hour wine tastings and just being social with the guests - very cool.

I will probably never stay anywhere else again when I go to wine country. It exceeded all expectations.

Farmhouse Inn Stay——Four Days After Opening

We couldn’t have the party we planned but had to do something for our 35th anniversary. We decided to grace the Farmhouse Inn with the pleasure of our company! The king suite with the private deck was immaculate. The restaurant is open for dinner but breakfast is room service only, at this time. That suited us just fine. The pool is open but spa services haven’t resumed. The restaurant is definitely worthy of its Michelin rating. The food is expertly prepared and presented. All Covid-19 protocols are being followed. There is hand sanitizer in the dining room. The tables are distanced and all restaurant personnel are masked. The surrounding area has many good wineries. Farmhouse has partnered with a few and the tastings are free. After sheltering in place the Farmhouse Inn was the perfect place for excellent service, first-class accommodations and good food. I forgot to mention you have to try the evening s’mores!!

Farmhouse Inn - First rate

Not inexpensive but the quality of the property and the high level of care from the staff made the Farmhouse Inn a compelling experience. They clearly have a first rate relationship with the restaurants and wineries in the area. We were welcomed everywhere as Farmhouse guests
