The hotel's friendly owner is part of the original family that ran the property and he grew up working around the hotel. He's an expert on all things local, so be sure to ask him for activity and dining recommendations.
A tourist tax of 4 euro per person per day, for a maximum of four days, will be collected upon check out.
On-site restaurant is open for lunch from Wednesday - Sunday from 12-2 p.m. The restaurant is open for dinner from Tuesday - Sunday from 7:30-9:30 p.m. The concierge team can assist with alternative off-property dining suggestions and reservations when the on-site restaurant is closed.

Additional Information:

Cancellation policy: Reservations cancelled 16 or more days prior to arrival are fully refundable. Reservations canceled within 16 days prior to arrival are 100% non-refundable.
Maxiumum occupancy: One additional guest is allowed over the stated occupancy. The additional guest is accommodated on a rollaway, subject to availability, for a fee of 65 EUR per night plus tax.

Location

The most convenient airport is Florence Airport, Peretola (FLR). From the U.S., you'll connect via Paris, London, Amsterdam, Frankfurt or another major European city. There are also flights into Pisa's Galileo Galilei Airport and Rome's Fiumicino Leonardo da Vinci Airport, both of which are about two hours away.

From Florence, you'll drive about 90 minutes to reach your hotel. You'll likely want to rent a car in order to explore the vast countryside. La Corte dei Papi has an on-site rental car desk, and club partner Avis is always happy to help. If you prefer private transportation service, just let your concierge know. Even better, La Corte dei Papi is about 50 minutes to one hour and 45 minutes away from our Inspirato Residences in Tuscany, making the hotel an excellent choice for a multi-stop vacation in one of Italy's finest destinations.

Beautiful boutique hotel with outstanding service

We cannot say enough good things about our experience here, and specifically the graciousness, service and attention to detail of host and owner, David, who clearly goes out of his way to ensure all is perfect, including advice on day trips in the region. This delightful boutique property has 16 rooms in a postcard valley setting just outside of Cortona. It is not only a great base to explore the region, it is beautifully done in its own right, and the restaurant is excellent. It is so relaxing there you hate leaving and love returning. We will be returning

Tuscan elegance at its finest !

I highly recommend this stay . David, who is the owner and the staff are absolutely the best . I felt like I was in a movie from start to finish lol. We will definitely be back!

Lovely, charming, fabulous

David and his staff welcomed us with open arms...and bottles of wine after flight problems caused us to miss the first half of our trip. The property is charming, and our suite was gorgeous. It has been tastefully updated, yet maintains its historic charm. The chef creates fabulous dinners, and the wine selection nice. As we sat outside at dusk, I told my husband all we needed were roosters crowing and a mama cat carrying her kittens to complete the picture perfect moment. And literally seconds later, roosters starting chattering. And then 30 minutes the resident cat walked by (albeit minus any kittens). It is truly a place to experience that Under the Tuscan Sun moment. The true heart of the estate is David himself. David organized everything from airport transportation, to wine tours—and all were top notch! He himself is just a fabulous host and caring proprietor. We can’t say enough about what a great experience we had here. It’s such a gem and we look forward to visiting again!

Relax under the Tuscan sun

Small boutique property with owner operator David that is there to help with anything. Fantastic restaurant on property. Excellent wine list. 15 minutes into Cortona. But if you just want to relax in a good spot to see and enjoy south Tuscany and northern Umbria this is perfect. New renovation. Get a spa room. Great spa tub and sauna/steam shower in room. Excellent in room massage too.

A romantic and beautiful second honeymoon

Staying at La Corte dei Papi was an experience in itself! David, is the owner and has also grown up on the very same property. He has a small staff who are all extremely friendly and helpful, but truly, David does it all. He has obviously put his heart and soul into making this place amazing, and it shows. He arranged everything for us...dinner reservations, transfers, taxi rides, tours and more. Our vacation wouldn't have been as relaxing and wonderful without him.

We enjoyed our first day with a guide taking us on various winery tours. After a full, but interesting day, we knew one day was more than enough. So, we spent the following day (originally unplanned), taking the train to Florence, which was amazing! For us though, we enjoyed the full day we spent walking the streets of tiny Cortona even better. That day felt very authentic! We shopped, ate, and walked up and down the hills. Good thing we had on the right shoes!

Another day well spent was visiting the organic cheese farm and then truffle hunting with dogs. We weren't sure if this day was going to be fun, but it turned out to be simply amazing. The views from the farm, the lunch they provided, the tables by the cozy fireplace...and of course, Zara, the truffle hunting dog, were all superb!
