A 5,000-acre estate situated on the ancient Via Francigena, a route travelled by merchants and pilgrims, Castiglion del Bosco is located within the Val d’Orcia, a nature, culture, and art reserve designated as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2004. The most convenient airport is Florence Airport, Peretola (FLR). From the U.S., you'll connect via Paris, London, Amsterdam, Frankfurt or another major European city. The Castiglion del Bosco is 56 miles (90 kilometers) from Florence, about an hour’s drive. You'll likely want to rent a car in order to explore the hill towns, Siena and other beautiful places in the vast countryside. Club partner Avis is happy to help. Elegant, Discreet, Charming!

This is what a 5 star resort is supposed to feel like! They think of your needs before you have even had a chance to realize the need. I can't say enough about the resort, grounds, staff, etc. We loved every minute.

We had a wedding during our stay and we did have a few hiccups, however, they were quick to remedy each situation.

The Villa Castello comes with a House Momma who is at your disposal for whatever you may need. She makes a custom breakfast each morning. There is a meal of choice included each day...in addition to breakfast. And, there is a Land Rover Defender provided.

The check out time is 10am, which seemed absurd to us. We had to get Inspirato involved to get a late check out.

We visited several 5 star or luxury resorts in the area and I couldn't see how any would compare to CDB!
