Location

Verona Villafranca Airport (VRN), also known as Valerio Catullo Airport, is just a 16-minute drive to the Butterfly Verona. National airlines fly to the Verona airport from Frankfurt, Munich, London, Paris, and Rome. Verona is a very walkable city, and some of the top attractions are just a short stroll away—because of this we do not recommend renting a car.

Friendly Service and a Great Location

Many of the prior reviews have properly described the character of the Butterfly property; part hotel, part apartment.

We stayed in the two bedroom unit as we were four adult guests. The unit is a stylish blend between traditional and contemporary design with plenty of room in the bedrooms as well as the common living room. A small kitchenette is featured but only equipped to prepare light meals but certainly not extensive gourmet meals.

Aside from the very friendly service provided by the owners and their staff, the location is superb-- slightly off the historic district but a mere 5 minute walk to the beautiful historic district of Verona as wells as it ancient Arena.

A word about Verona: We loved it. Verona is replete with many historic ancient sites (the Arena being the most famous) but not with the stifling crowds of Florence and Rome. Verona is also well situated in Italy to easily make day trips to Venice, Lake Garda and the Dolomites along with numerous other historic cities in northern Italy. We especially loved Brescia. From the Butterfly, one can walk to all the important historic sites that Verona has to offer.

Verona, Italy - Butterfly Verona

Verona was the beginning of our Italy trip and the team at Butterfly Verona were just lovely. We had a rocky start as our original departure/arrival was cancelled by the airline early in the morning of our planned departure, so lost a day in Verona. When we arrived a day later, after taking the train from Milan to Verona, we discovered that one of my husband's bags had been stolen at any earlier train stop. Language barriers are real - and the driver sent by Butterfly to pick us up was incredibly helpful to navigate the issue with the local police. Fortunately, the police at the prior stop had noticed a young man rifling through a bag and retrieved it (we knew where it was because of an Apple Air Tag). Upon arrival at Butterfly, the owner, John Mateo, was waiting with his personal car and drove Jeff to the prior train stop to retrieve the bag. That's the first thing to know about Butterfly - service was above and beyond. Our room was lovely, the amenities were special and we had a wonderful two days there, including beautiful meals arranged by Butterfly. We had an amazing city tour, went to the Juliet house and made the most of our two days before heading on to Tuscany. The city is very walkable. Don't miss Verona and Butterfly!

Amazing property and staff

Apartment 6 is perfect for 2 couples with plenty of shared space to relax. Francesca and the entire staff were outstanding (as was the actual property owner) in handling all our requests and needs. The location allows you to walk to almost everything Verona has to offer. We also highly recommend the private home cooking class https://www.vallihomemade.com/pasta-lovers-house-subscribe

First Stop: Verona

Verona was our first stop on our 2 week vacation to Italy. It was a great place to start the trip. The city is low key, small and easy to get around on foot. Nice way to ease into vacation and not be overwhelmed. The apartment was nice, clean and nicely renovated. The owners were the sweetest and super helpful leading up to the trip. they provided us with a great tour guide and restaurant recommendations. If you are there in the summer months, try and grab tickets to the opera at the Arena. Very cool experience. My only criticism is that I don't think the unit is as luxurious as other Inspirato properties. However, we snagged it on Jaunt Now and got a great price! I would not spend more than 2 nights in Verona. Small city and not a ton to do.

Beautiful Apartment in Verona!

Laura and Gian Matteo are wonderful hosts! Their beautiful apartment was perfect for four adults. It is a high end furnished, luxury apartment in the heart of Verona. Very easy to explore Verona and all it has to offer. It is also a great location for day trips to Lake Garda, Venice, Parma, Modena by train or by car. Thank you to Laura and Gian Matteo for making our stay in Verona very memorable!
