Many Inspirato travelers vacation with their significant other, with a group of friends, or solo, but Inspirato is also ideal for a good old-fashioned family getaway. Inspirato’s personalized care, luxurious accommodations, and exciting destinations create an ideal experience for travelers of any age. That was something that member Kelly Debusschere discovered right from the start of her very first Inspirato trip.
Prior to joining Inspirato, Kelly had booked a trip to Casa de Campo, Dominican Republic, one of the largest and most comprehensive resorts in all of the Caribbean. “We had originally booked this trip through our travel agent and were going to stay in a three-bedroom villa. We joined Inspirato in December 2017 and were pleasantly surprised when we saw Villa Lozano, a beautiful five-bedroom Inspirato home, was available for the same price,” Kelly says.
It ended up being the perfect place for her whole group. “Villa Lozano is ideal for large families (we had eight kids in our group) because all the bedrooms are on the first floor but laid out where everyone has privacy. The children especially loved the bunk room,” she says.
The staff at the house were so pleasant and helpful. They would cook a fabulous breakfast for us each morning. The Inspirato concierge checked in with us every day and made our stay seamless and packed with fun!Kelly DebusschereInspirato member
Before arriving at Casa de Campo, Kelly worked with her on-site destination team, led by Marimar Rodriguez, to build the perfect itinerary. “She is a pleasure to work with and she helped plan a stellar itinerary for us,” Kelly says. Marimar drew from her in-depth local knowledge to recommend a host of exciting activities for both kids and adults.
“Having five children ranging from nine months to 12 years old, there was something for everyone to do. There was not one time when the kids were bored,” Kelly says. “We snorkeled and paddle boarded with the kids every day while the baby napped under the cabana.”
The highlight of the trip? A boat ride Marimar arranged to another Inspirato favorite destination. “She told us the ride to Punta Cana was worth it and we totally agree. The kids had the best time snorkeling, going to coconut island, and watching the sunset,” Kelly says. “The staff on the boat were very nice and engaging.”
Of course, Casa de Campo’s beautiful tropical scenery and abundant sunshine were made for spending days on the beach, and Marimar’s thoughtful itinerary included plenty of time for doing just that.
“The kids spent the days running back and forth from the ocean and pool,” Kelly says. “The new beach club offers a beautiful pool and spot to eat without taking your feet out of the sand and salt water for too long.”
Beyond the beach club, Kelly and her group explored Casa de Campo’s numerous culinary offerings, and found the eclectic roster of restaurants had something for every taste.
“Our favorite restaurants for adults’ night out included La Piazetta (fabulous food and ambience) and SBG (fabulous view at the point of the marina and good food),” Kelly says. “When we dined out with the children, we enjoyed Limoncello, The Beach Club, and Cafe Marietta. We had the chef come and cook dinner at the villa—a must do!!”
Our first trip with Inspirato exceeded expectations. We will be going back again!Kelly DebusschereInspirato member
This being Kelly’s first Inspirato trip, she wasn’t sure what to expect—but by the end of the vacation, she knew she was hooked. In fact, Kelly loved her time in Casa de Campo so much she has already reserved Villa Lozano again next year for an even longer trip. She says she’s looking forward to visiting Catalina Island, trying different golf courses, and taking another private boat trip.
