IAspen, where department stores are MIA, there are many boutique clothing stores owned by locals who have been in the valley for so long that they know all the secrets when it comes to fashion for the sporty and the super chic. What these owners are most affluent in is the language of combining luxurious fashion with comfort for adventure-minded people. Let’s go shopping in our favorite locally owned boutiques:

Kali’s Denim

Kali's Denim Aspen

Kimberly Wilson, Buyer and Manager of Kali’s is a beautiful local who has lived in Aspen for twenty-five years.  With a body made for fashion, she has a knack for finding fashion-forward clothes, sassy bags, shoes, hard to find denim and clothing lines to the tune of Winter Kate (Nicole Riche’s line) and Wildfox. The Owner of Kali’s is Christopher Stebbins, he is also Kimberly’s boyfriend. Christopher opened Kali’s in June of 2009 and is half owner of Kali’s boutique in Steamboat Co. At Kali’s the prices are reasonable and one can find items that are difficult to find anywhere else in town. Kali’s also shares space with Kathryn Penn Jewelry, who has the biggest collection of Indian Diamond jewelry in Aspen with designs created by Lisa Nik and Patricia Peckinpaugh. Kathryn also designs her own beautiful pieces.
