Cruises are officially coming back—and according to Condé Nast, booking early is the best way to ensure you’ll be able to get back out on the seas in 2021.
Luckily for Inspirato members, our exclusive, members-only cruises still have availability left. The first, Spring 2021 Caribbean Cruise, is set for March 7–March 15. Board the Silver Shadow, a Silversea ship, to experience the lesser-seen side of the Caribbean, from chic St. Vincent and the Grenadines to lush Martinique.
Domenica Cerasaro and Steven Boselli, who head Inspirato’s cruises on the Experiences team, shared their thoughts on why this Inspirato Only experience is a great fit for those still hesitant to cruise
“We’re working really closely with Silversea to understand what steps they’re taking when it comes to safety and cleanliness,” Domenica said.
Plus, Royal Caribbean International, the company that owns Silversea, is currently setting the industry standard with its Healthy Sail Panel of medical experts and scientists—learn more about it here.
Members can rest assured there will be plenty of masks, hand sanitizer, wipes, and more on board.
And if getting away from the tourist crowds—and less populated areas—is a priority, this cruise is a perfect fit. The lesser-seen but incredibly beautiful side of the Caribbean is what awaits, with plenty of activities outdoors and away from stuffy, crowded spaces.
“Most of the time, we’ll be the only ship in these ports,” Domenica said. “All of our shore excursions are outdoors: snorkeling, kayaking, Jeep tours. We’re in these smaller ports, so we’re going to a lot of places that these bigger cruises don’t go to or can’t go.”
Inspirato and Silversea are so committed to providing that seclusion, in fact, that the company reached out to the Experiences team and switched around some of the days of the cruise’s itinerary. That would ensure that the Silver Shadow would be the only ship at a port on a specific day.
It will feel kind of private the whole time. We really are getting off the beaten path. When members think ‘Caribbean,’ they’re thinking St. Thomas, St. John, Turks … But this will be different.
When it comes to crowds on the ship itself, that won’t be a problem either.
“Silversea ships are not mega ships, and that’s by design,” Domenica said. “Its ships are known in the industry for having some of the largest cabins. You’re never going to feel like you’re on top of other people—you literally can go find a quiet corner to read a book and not see anyone for an hour.”
The cruise is a great family-friendly option, too.
“We’ll have a children’s coordinator on board, children’s programming, stuff geared specifically toward kids as young as 2 years old,” Steven said.
Still feeling a little unsure about future travel plans? We understand. Inspirato’s flexible cancellation policy allows members to cancel 30 days prior to arrival; they’ll receive a 100% refund in Inspirato Travel Credits.
“We want members to feel confident when they book that they can have the option to cancel if they get closer and don’t feel comfortable,” Domenica said.
But seeing the lesser-traveled side of the Caribbean on this exclusive cruise is a perfect way for Inspirato members to ease their way back into cruising.
“Think of this as chance to redo last year’s spring break!” Domenica suggested. “It’s an opportunity to get the whole family on board.”
