Location

You can fly into either San Francisco International Airport (SFO) or Oakland International Airport (OAK). We recommend San Francisco, though you may encounter more traffic getting from the city to the valley. The drive from either airport is about 90 minutes. Virtually all major airlines fly into both airports.

If you're staying in one of our Healdsburg properties, you may not want a car; you're just blocks from all the dining and wineries of the Healdsburg Plaza main square. From the other residences, a rental car is recommended, as you'll want to explore the countryside. Alternatively, your Destination Concierge is happy to arrange a car service.

perfect spot for a couples wine trip!

December 2024. Loved it, great location. Spacious room, ice can be requested by housekeeping. Steps from the square. Try Willie’s seafood and Raw Bar, a favorite for us. Selby winery is next door and a great experience, also loved Portoluppi. We did tastings at both Inspirato partners Comstock and Blue Rock. Both good, but we really enjoyed the wines and experience at Blue Rock.

Ideal Location to Healdsburg Square

Chamise (Wheelman House) is situated 1/2 block from the “Square” so easy walking distance to all restaurants, shops and tasting rooms in the town of Healdsburg itself.

Although, located in town, the Wheelman House felt serene with a nice quiet outdoor space.

The Chamise is really a glorified, good-sized hotel room with a large bathroom and decent closet space. The small refrigerator is a nice feature. Coffee maker in room is nice but Oakville Grocery is just a few steps away for coffee and breakfast.

Fantastic Fall Getaway

This property is perfectly located just off Healdsburg Square. It’s a perfect spot for a couples get away. We hired a driver and spent one day in Sonoma, one in Napa and one around Healdsburg (dry creek valley and Russian river valley). Ryan, our planner was super helpful in booking our appointments and dinner spots. Brittany (local concierge) also sprung into action when I realized one of our appts was cancelled (my fault). All of the places they recommended were great. The Chamise itself is very comfortable. The $40/day credit to Oakville grocery is very useful. Only suggestion on the room..get a better coffee maker and put creamer in the room. It’s a terrible cheap one cup mr coffee machine. We will definitely be back!!

Sonoma-Wheelman

The 1 bedroom Chamise is lovely and perfect for a couples getaway. Healdsburg is a very walkable town and great location for visiting Sonoma County wineries. Lovely plaza. Oakville grocery opens at 7am. We are early risers so we walked around until 7. Many eatery locations available. Will need rental car for winery visits. Blue Rock was scheduled for a private tour and was amazing. Local hostess checked in everyday. Chalkboard was amazing food. Farmhouse Inn was ok but $250 per person was a bit much. Food was good but not exactly a $500+ meal. Osmosis Day Spa is a perfect setting offering outdoor massages during our visit.
