Location

Fly into Bozeman Yellowstone International Airport (BZN), located about 50 miles from your residence. Several major airlines service this airport via hubs including Denver, Chicago, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Minneapolis, and Seattle, among others. Please note that some routes operate seasonally.

We recommend a rental car for the beautiful drive from the airport—which should take approximately one hour—as well as for exploring the Big Sky area. Great location.

The property was beautiful. The access to the Spanish Peaks club was a nice benefit. The club made it easy to enter an exit the slopes.

Great trip, bad house

We love skiing in Big Sky and have stayed at several Inspirato homes. We were really looking forward to trying Flatiron as the photos looked really great. I must admit that we were incredibly disappointed. First the positives - great location near the Montage, terrific ski in ski out access and access to the Spanish Peak yurt for lunch. The family room was great for watching TV. Unfortunately the negatives are a longer list. The overall vibe of the house was sloppy. The prior review got it totally right - the fixtures and finishes were really cheap. During our stay we had a toilet that ran nonstop - resulting in property management coming to the house when we were already in bed. The home did not feel clean. The bed and bath linens were of very poor quality. None of our beds had fitted sheets. The sheets were not changed during our 7 day stay. The hot tub could barely accommodate an adult and two kids, which seemed odd given the max occupancy. My wife’s sink was so clogged with hair that sink did not drain. The handheld shower attachment was broken. Perhaps the most disappointing aspect of the house was the difference between its appearance online and its reality.

Flatiron - August 2022

We had a very different experience than others. I was very disappointed with the quality of the house and the surrounding area. The finishes were all contractor grade (and already showing wear) and you felt like you were in a bad suburban tract home development where all the houses look alike not to mention no view. I'm sure the house was initially stocked similar to other Inspirato places but we couldn't find 6 red wine glasses that matched, the grill didn't work, it took four days to get the disposal repaired, two days to get the kitchen sink unclogged.........

We were not fans of Spanish Peaks Club. You really didn't get much for $350. Food was marginal and they clearly don't want you playing golf at almost $400/round.

On the positive side, we had a great tour of Yellowstone and our guide Porter was very knowledgeable and engaging. if you are going in late August avoid the whitewater rafting as the river was too low. We did the kayaks instead which were a lot of fun. Also recommend the side by side ATV trip.

Wonderful Mountain Escape

Our stay at Flatiron was a wonderfully relaxing stay for our family and we will most definitely return again in the future. The house itself is great, the layout is cozy and inviting and it is well stocked. The optional membership to Spanish Peaks is a must! We had breakfast their every morning, dinner four evenings (twice on the deck overlooking at mountains at sunset in the cool mountain air under heat lamps) and spent time at the gym, pool, kids club and playground. The meals we had at Spanish Peaks were all incredible and, honestly, much better than what we had on our nights eating out. We made two separate full day trips to Yellowstone (all arranged by the team at Inspirato) and they were by far some of our most memorable experiences. We spent a couple of afternoons over at Big Sky Resort going up the mountains, having lunch at Yeti Dogs and taking in the views and activities available there. Montana is a special place and most definitely deserves the nickname Big Sky Country. The team at Inspirato was fantastic! The cleaning staff was so nice and helpful and the house has plenty of places and ways to relax. Late evenings in the hot tub were a favorite as was late night star gazing, s’mores at the fire place or in the fire pit across the street, board games around the coffee table, tea on the deck and walks taking in the stunning views. All of it adds up to an amazing trip in a beautiful area of Montana. This is definitely one of our favorite Inspirato homes and we look forward to our return!
