It is highly recommended to rent a car in this destination due to its secluded nature and location of villas.
Please note bedroom 3 has two twin over queen bunk beds and is best suited for young adults or children.
Please note that bedroom 4 is a detached bungalow suite with a king bed, wet bar, and outdoor patio with seating.
Due to the remoteness of this location, grocery lists will automatically be submitted five days prior to arrival, and a $50 delivery fee will be added to the cost of groceries.

Costa Elena Beach Club does not offer food and beverage service on Mondays and Tuesdays. Guests are welcome to bring their own food and beverages and may still enjoy the club’s facilities.

Location

The Costa Elena Resort community is a 90-minute drive from the nearest airport, Liberia International Airport (LIR). We recommend renting a car through club partner Avis in order to venture out to nearby beaches, quaint towns, national parks, and points of interest.

Different than expected

The Orosi house in Costa Elena is beautiful and comfortable, stunning views out the floor to ceiling glass windows, an easy layout. It's every bit as nice as the photos suggest. Both Valentina and Gerardo were attentive and warm hosts, offering great suggestions for activities and dinners. The beach club is pristine and lovely, and the neighborhood is very quiet.

We did a great hike in the Rincon de la Vieja National Park to see a beautiful waterfalls - Catarata la Cangreja; it's moderately strenuous, about 7 miles with 1000+ feet of elevation gain, and well worth the reward of seeing the falls (and probably best in dry season as it could be quite slippery when wet).

There is a small gym, mostly strength training equipment. We got a decent cardio workout walking the hillside road to the beach every day.

If we had done better research we might not have been surprised by how dry and windy the weather was, many of the trees do no have leaves this time of year, and the landscape was more brown than lush green. That said, we saw plenty of wildlife, both spider and howler monkeys swinging through the neighborhood, coati, parrots passing by every morning and evening... even a potoo, an exotic looking night bird with enormous eyes which we spotted a couple nights near the house.

Stress-free family perfection at Costa Elena

Our trip to Costa Elena was absolutely wonderful. Traveling with four young children can be a challenge, but the staff was incredibly accommodating and made everything seamless. A special shout-out to Gerardo, whose attention to detail was unmatched; he was there whenever we needed him.

Pro Tip: Book your airport and beach club transport through the resort/Inspirato—it's worth every penny for the convenience.
Excursions: Have Gerardo book your tours to ensure they are vetted and reliable.
Weather: Don't fear the "windy season." The mountain blocks the breeze at the beach club cove, making for calm, perfect pool and beach days. Highly recommend!

Loved it!

I traveled here with my family of five that includes three small children ages 3-8. I also had my in laws with me. We all absolutely loved Orosi and the Costa Elena area. There is a lot of wildlife to see from your house as well as down by the Beach Club. The Beach Club was amazing! It is peaceful and has all the amenities you need to hangout for the day. The beach is close by the Beach Club and is beautiful. We did two excursions - we went on the 4x4 that gave us the tour of the beaches and mountains. It was fun to see the surrounding area. We also did a snorkeling boat tour which was amazing as well! We stopped at some beaches, did some snorkeling and relaxed. We opted in to have breakfast prepared for us every morning and it was delicious! What a treat to have breakfast made every morning. We also invited a chef for dinner a few of the nights and that was also a very fun experience with great food! Overall I would recommend this location to anyone. The only thing I would caution is that the pool at Orosi is a little scary with young kids, as the infinity edge pool is a good 10 foot drop down the side of the house.

Beautiful Property

The Guanacaste region of Costa Rica is beautiful but rural and quite removed from conveniently located restaurants, cities or excursions. Our concierge, Gerardo, was absolutely amazing and arranged for private transportation everywhere which probably makes more sense than renting a car as the driving in this region is challenging. He was probably the most attentive and helpful concierge we have ever had and was extremely accessible and responsive. Our excursions were fun but unless you are going out on the water, they are 2+ hours from the villa. The daily breakfast in the villa was perfect and a great way to start each day. The private dinner in our villa was also a highlight. The beach club is very nice and the shuttle service was very prompt and required as the villas are spread out and some require a challenging walk to get to the beach club. It would be helpful if Inspirato posted a resort map and locations of each of their properties within Costa Elena as we would have probably selected one that was closer to the beach club versus one that is up and over the mountain.

Great House and Trip

The Inspirato experience at Costa Elena was incredible. The service was top notch all around. Highly recommend private transport over renting a car. The Inspirato team was very attentive and went over and above. In particular, Gerardo added in the Pop TV app so that we could watch College Football without a problem while we there over Labor Day weekend.
