Location

The closest airport is Terrance B. Lettsome International Airport (EIS), formerly known as Beef Island Airport, on Tortola Island. Trellis Bay Dock is about two minutes from the airport and then the ferry ride over to Scrub Island is approximately 10 minutes. Scrub Island does not allow cars and the primary mode of transportation is golf carts.

Beautiful Island, Property Needs Maintenance

The British virgin islands were beautiful and truly a pleasure to explore. Our home was under serviced and ill equipped to serve as a premium property in this portfolio. From a broken dishwasher to inconsistent housekeeping leaving us in unsafe conditions with no bath math and water all over the bathroom, to curtains that were on a track to rusty to close easily and Air conditioning not properly working and emitting noises that disrupted sleep, lets just say I would not want to be in this property again. There was also a day where we had no gas to cook breakfast despite complaining the night before. I'm not sure if the unlimited vacations in the club portfolio is the reason why this was the unit of choice for us but it was a sub par property to compared to my prior experience with Inspirato. Hopefully this is a one off expierince.

July 2025 - my wife, six girls and a dad

It was a great trip. Staff was so nice and was accommodating whenever we needed anything. House was perfect. Plenty of room and separation and the views from all balconies were spectacular. If you are worried about WiFi it is about 9 mb down and 18 mb up. However I brought a gli 1800 travel router and included pia vpn and I got 160 mbs down. With 7 people on WiFi and needing some video calls that worked great. Keep all good in fridge as there are ants but wasn’t a big deal at all. Amazing trip overall! Would definitely recommend for a family trip.

Scrub Island is OK but Drake House misses mark.

Scrub Island is a small island with two restaurants, a spa, a very small 'resort pool', and a small beach club. The restaurants are fine, but you can only eat at the same two restaurants so often before you get sick of them. The island is really intended to be a place for people who charter boats to stop, get some supplies, get off the boat, etc. You can take a shuttle ferry to Tortola to go to other restaurants but that seemed like too much trouble for us.

The service is great, the concierge team is over the top helpful. The area is beautiful, the water is crystal clear and the snorkeling/scuba was awesome.

The house was in a beautiful location but the bugs were intolerable. We had two scorpions and a daily parade of millipedes in the house throughout the day (including falling out of the ceiling vents) that were just gross and seemed like something that could have been dealt with by maintenance/pest control.

Amazing property

My wife and I loved this house. The view was just amazing. The Scrub Island staff was very attentive. The ferry from Beef Island was less then 10 minutes and always on time. The store on Scrub Island had most of the necessities but suggest having the house pre stocked with what you need. The restaurants had great food but there is one nice dinner restaurant and one casual restaurant so you will likely want to explore other options for longer stays and that requires using the ferry service. The only thing we felt was missing from the house would be a sound system, most Inspirato properties have a Sonos system so if you like music bring a Bluetooth speaker. Highly reccomend this house.

Wonderful family vacation

Kane was our Inspirato contact before the trip, and he was super organized and helpful. The only thing we booked beforehand was our boat excursions. We absolutely loved being out on the water and Scrub Island is a perfect place to use as a base to hop around the BVIs.

Drake House is very spacious, plenty of room for a family or large group. Large kitchen which we used daily to make breakfast (groceries stocked prior to arrival as usual for Inspirato homes.)

The staff was very friendly and attentive. Anything we needed was a quick text away.

Scrub Island is small and has a lot of steep hills! There are no cars, but you can request a golf cart pick up anytime from anywhere on the island. (We chose to walk because we liked the exercise.) The skies at night were incredible with so many stars visiable. It was lovely from sunrise to sunset.

The few restaurants on the island are good. Nothing really upscale but we were pleasantly surprised at the quality of the meals. Same with the drinks. Cardamom is the "most" upscale and we did have a great bottle of wine there. It's also worth your time to hop the ferry over to Marina Cay for a fun meal and live music. There are restaurants along Trellis Bay Marina you can ferry over to as well, they are all pretty much the same category of food. All enjoyable and the ferry back and forth is fun as well. Also, side note: two of our family members have SEVERE nut allergies. Everywhere we went the restaurants were attentive and helpful and we had zero problems. We did bring along little allergy cards that we handed to staff to give to the kitchens, so they knew exactly what the allergy was and how serious.

The North beach is really pretty, very relaxing. We were told to bring water shoes and we did use them! The water was clear and beautiful but rocky. The pool at the beach was a nice touch and we loved the food at the snack bar! While we were there the hotel was doing a MAJOR upgrade to the furniture so it's now all nice and new chairs, umbrellas, etc.

We would definitely go back!
