Location

Wymara Turks & Caicos is less than a 15-minute drive from Providenciales International Airport (PLS). Many airlines offer service here, including Air Canada, American Airlines, Delta, JetBlue, United/Continental, and US Airways. There are daily direct flights from Miami, Atlanta, New York (JFK), Boston, Philadelphia, and Charlotte. If you plan on spending your days at the resort, you won’t need a rental car. However, if you plan on exploring other beaches, snorkeling sites, and restaurants we do recommend a rental car through club partner Avis.

Not a Five Star Experience

The property is beautiful, the villas are clean and the dock is amazing. In general, the people were very nice and helpful and we enjoyed the island, especially the excursions, quite a bit. There are a lot of restaurant options and we thought the food on the island was mostly very good. The hotel beach is quite lovely as well.

The villas are not six minutes away from the hotel, they are at least 15 minutes away. This means that room service and beach/sports club delivery takes at least an hour and the food is never hot. We ordered a pot of coffee and a side of bacon - it took 90 minutes; they forgot syrup for a pancake order when breakfast arrived, took an hour to get syrup. Plan accordingly. They will also charge villa delivery fees ($25 for a $12 pot of coffee) because their logistics are bad, and they don't provide a coffee pot in the villa, only an espresso maker. There was no hot water in the bathroom sinks the entire time, it took 10-15 minutes of running each shower to get warm, not hot, water. The courtyard pool was supposed to be heated and it never worked, it remained too cold to use during our entire visit.

The biggest issue for us, and the reason we could not recommend this property, was the villa management. The communication was frustrating and stressful, leading up to the trip and during/after. We started planning our itinerary in August, and the team would go weeks without responding to voice messages, texts and emails. A week before our trip, they were telling us they had to change golf dates/reservations/spa treatments as there was no availabilty (because they waited until the last minute to book things that were requested months in advance). I spent an unnecessary amount of time, and a frantic week before vacation, trying to make this right and we ended up getting it settled when a manager stepped in and made some calls. The onsite experience was no better - there were a lot of "miscommunications" between villa staff and vendors/transport that cost us money and time (they forgot to book a "private" tour for our large group, even though it was on the itinerary and confirmed that morning - we were surprised to find it was not, in fact, private once we arrived). If you visit, we strongly recommend bypassing villa staff altogether and arranging your own transportation, itinerary and excursions to avoid the constant stress and frustration we experienced.

Amazing week in T&C!

We loved the 5 BR villa! Family of 10 stayed comfortably! We loved the villa pool, swimming platform and the outdoor kitchen area to grill out at night! The villa was breathtaking and pictures don't do it justice! Furniture and beds all very comfy! Kitchen very well equipped! We didn't watch TV much but they do have Netflix available ! We loved that even though it was away from the main resort it was just a 5 minute shuttle ride to take us back and forth to the beach, spa, dining! Housekeeping was impeccable and the only drawback was somedays they weren't able to get to our villa until mid afternoon! The concierge Bing and Teresa were very attentive and had the shuttle service scheduled around our spa and dining so we didn't have to call each time.The pre grocery order was accurate and all stocked upon our arrival! If you like to walk this villa might not be for you, really isolated and hilly so that really isn't an option from the villa. T&C is by far our favorite caribbean destination as the water is so turquoise, warm and clear! Feels safe and the currency is US dollars so know exactly what you're paying for things! If you're looking for a different culture experience you might want to go to another island as it feels very American to us!Easy to get right into relaxation mode!
