• Alternatively, join a guided walking tour of Gorinchem, where you’ll stroll the town’s historic ramparts, visit the old windmill, and explore a museum dedicated to Hendrick Hamel—the 17th-century sailor who penned the first European account of Korea.
• Step further into history and venture to Castle Loevestein, accessible by ferry just outside of Gorinchem. Founded in 1358, the castle grew into a formidable stronghold funded by tolls imposed along the river, and remains a proud monument of the Dutch Waterline today.
