• Choose from a variety of activities that suit your style: take a scenic riverside hike along the Ilz with a local guide; paddle on the mesmerizing waters of the “Black Pearl” Ilz with options for canoeing, rowing, or paddleboarding; or embark on a geocaching treasure hunt to uncover Passau’s historical and hidden spots.

• Choose between a full day in Salzburg, where a guided walking tour will immerse you in the city’s rich musical heritage with visits to Mozart’s birthplace, the iconic “Do Re Mi” filming sites, and stunning views from Mönschberg mountain. Or take a local-led tour of Linz, exploring Mozart’s apartment and the Jesuit Cathedral before sampling the original Linzer torte with coffee at Konditorei Jindrak.

• Later, each group will venture into the countryside for a delicious lunch and house-made cider at a traditional cider farm, offering a look into rural Austrian life while supporting local farmers.

• This morning, visit the 900-year-old Melk Abbey and its extraordinary baroque-style library.

• Later in the day, you will head to Dürnstein, one of our favorite towns along the Danube. It’s a lovely place to wander cobblestone lanes, browse quaint shops, and maybe hike up to a ruined castle.

• You may opt for a tasting or learn all about the world’s costliest spice from the Wachau Valley’s only saffron grower.

• You have two ports of call in the incredibly scenic valley, Dürnstein and Melk, and an assortment of delightful ways to explore this lovely region.

Day 7
September 24, 2026 | Vienna

• Vienna is a cultural treasure trove revered for its art, music, and rich pastries. Experience the City of Waltzes with a highlight tour of the city, as well as an expertly led tour of an extraordinary collection of art at the renowned Vienna Art History Museum.

September 25, 2026 | Vienna and Bratislava

• We set sail from Vienna and head for Bratislava today. You may relax on board all day, perhaps enjoying a drink on the Sun Deck and taking in the scenery as the ship winds its way along the Danube toward Bratislava. Although it’s not a large city, Bratislava has played a leading role in the politics and culture of the region for many centuries, and it is well worth a visit.

• Choose your adventure in Bratislava: Enjoy a walking tour led by a local guide, starting on the Danube promenade and passing highlights like the historic Coronation Square, Slovak National Theater, and the Gothic St. Martin’s Cathedral. Or, for a more active option, hike up to the iconic Bratislava Castle, where you’ll be rewarded with sweeping city views, followed by a guided stroll through the city’s most charming areas.

With stunning architecture, vibrant café culture, and iconic landmarks along the river, Budapest offers an unforgettable experience that blends grandeur with a welcoming local spirit.

• Experience a Panoramic Highlights Tour with a visit to the renowned Franz Liszt Academy, a prestigious music conservatory founded in 1875 by Hungary’s own legendary composer. Or join a guided walk with local treats where you’ll snack like a local, starting with a tram ride to the House of Parliament, followed by a coffee and strudel at the iconic First Strudel House of Pest.
