Location

Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) is one of the busiest airports in the world and is located about 40 minutes from the Peninsula Beverly Hills. L.A. traffic is notoriously congested, so we do not recommend driving in the city. Taxis are abundant and your concierge can easily arrange for private transportation to take you around town. You could also take advantage of the posh hotel’s house cars (chauffeur-driven Rolls-Royces) which are available for complimentary transport within a few miles.

The Peninsula made up for bad weather and traffic

We had a business meeting in LA on a Tuesday, so decided to make a Sunday-Wednesday vacation out of the the trip. A+ again to Inspirato and Southwest Team. Arrangements were perfect and in order.

Unfortunately the weather decided to make it difficult -- it poured torrential rain for the entire time we were in LA. Many of things you want to see and do in LA involve both some driving and outdoors activity. The traffic in LA is bad when all goes well - but with the rain it was miserable. But the trip was was great -- the Peninsula, some good umbrella's, a good Italian restaurant, and some great museums made the trip a nice retreat.

We have stayed at (and gave great reviews for) the Waldorf Chicago for our trip there. We were even more impressed with the Peninsula. Though the room in LA was smaller (we had a king room -- not a suite), I would say that "overall" it was still a step above the Chicago Waldorf. The service, rooms, meals, drinks, staff, valet -- from top to bottom - fantastic. If you needed anything, it was provided in minutes. If you go to LA - stay at the Peninsula.

The bar and restaurants are small and intimate. You will pay a very small premium for the meals and drinks, but totally and without doubt worth every penny (particularly when it raining). Every meal and drink was served perfectly -- without exception.

Between the meeting and rain, we were limited in what we could do in LA. We made it to the Getty Villa and Getty Museum, and they were both fantastic. For dinner the first night we found il Pastaio and loved it -- five stars for a crowded, local, reasonably prices (for Beverly Hills) authentic Italian restaurant. We liked it so much we went back for a second night. It is a short 0.8 mile walk from the hotel, which even in the rain was ok. See https://www.ilpastaiobeverlyhills.com/

The Peninsula Valet is very reasonable for LA -- at $50 per day -- with "in and out" service and first class valet staff.

There is no doubt that we would happily stay there again, and look forward to taking advantage of additional Peninsula Jaunts at other (less congested) cities.
