  • This home is exclusively staffed, managed, and maintained by Inspirato.
  • This home is all on one level with elevator access.
  • From mid-April to mid-June and Labor Day to Thanksgiving week, many restaurants, shops, and activities located in the local villages may be closed due to shoulder season. Northstar generally closes for skiing/snowboarding no later than the third weekend in April. Please be sure to check with your Care team to confirm availability during your planned visit.
  • The Reno airport is closest to this home. You can easily fly into San Francisco or Sacramento, but there will be significantly more traffic from those two airports.
  • If you are parking a car, you will receive one parking tag at check-in. Be sure the tag is hanging from your rearview mirror and is clearly visible.
  • Lake Tahoe is approximately 15 minutes from the village at Northstar.

Location

By far the most convenient way to get to Northstar is flying into Reno/Tahoe International Airport (RNO). This airport is 50 miles from Northstar and offers regular shuttle buses to the resort. There are daily non-stop flights from Chicago, Dallas, Denver, Las Vegas, Los Angeles, Phoenix, San Francisco and more. You can also fly into Sacramento International Airport (SMF), which is 112 miles from Northstar, or San Francisco International Airport (SFO), which is 204 miles away.

A rental car is highly recommended here, especially in the summer to explore the entire area. For winter, we recommend a four-wheel drive vehicle, as snowfall can be heavy.

Great visit to NorthStar

We really enjoyed our week at NorthStar! Can’t say enough wonderful things about Anne, our destination concierge. She’s so knowledgeable about the area and activities and was a huge help with getting our trip set up! The condo worked well for our family of four as well as our brother and nephew. Plenty of room to enjoy long meals and to hang out. Skiing was great during our stay the first week of March. We loved the easy access to the gondola from the condo. We found the mountain and resort easy to navigate. Would definitely return!

Comfy relaxing space is a cozy village

First off, Anne was amazing! She made sure we had everything ready for our stay. She also went above and beyond helping us with our luggage before it was time to check in so that we can explore the village without having to lug around the luggage. She also had some fun treats for us to snack on once the space was ready.

As for Sawtooth, the space is comfortable, spacious, and great for families. As with any Inspirato homes, the kitchen has everything you need to cook, board games for the kids, comfy beds, etc.

Really nice condo!

We were here in April with 3 couples total. The condo was spacious enough for all of us to fit and not feel cramped.

Pros: Anne, the destination concierge was very attentive and helpful. While we did not need her for anything in particular, she checked in each day just to see how we were getting along. The village itself was contained and it was fun to walk the shops (what was open in April anyway) - the pizza place had delicious food and great service. I can see where this place would be bustling and fun in ski season and/or summertime.

The pool was plenty large for lap swimming and the hot tub was good sized too, even for different groups to fit and not feel like you're in each others space.

We enjoyed the patio - it is directly over the gondola and would be entertaining to sit out there during ski season. It does tend to get cold in the evenings (even in April) and some throw blankets for outside (and inside) would have been great to have.

Cons: the lighting in the living room is dismal. There are 2 lamps that are definitely not enough to light the room. There are multiple speakers in the ceiling that are no longer in use - it would be nice to have some recessed lighting in there instead.

The fireplace also never worked - it was apparently serviced right before our arrival and then 2x when we were there. It would have been nice to enjoy a working fireplace that didn't turn on and off every minute or so.

All in all, a very lovely place to visit!!

Amazing Experience; A Few Steps From The Ski Lift!

I have stayed at many Inspirato properties, but the Sawtooth condo is my favorite by far. The condo is well stocked, roomy, well-kept, and nicely furnished. It is also only a few steps from the main gondola - and even better, condo residents get to skip the lines!

Last but not least, the condo was stocked to perfection with groceries and supplies by our excellent concierge - Anne England.

Anne & the cleaning staff were great help! Our team enjoyed the trip so much. We can’t wait to plan another business retreat to this location.
