Location

Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) is about a 30-minute drive from Oceana. Santa Monica is a very small and walkable or bikeable city, so a car is not necessary. Oceana also offers complimentary house car service within Santa Monica. If you plan on adventuring outside of this seaside city, we recommend renting a car through club partner Avis. Highly recommend Oceana! What a gorgeous hotel and wonderful location! Room extremely comfortable. Everyone so personable. Bathroom was too small so if you can, opt for the larger suite.

Fabulous!

We loved the small, boutique feel. Staff was very nice and accommodating. Pretty view of the Pacific. Loved the quiet, neighborhood environment surrounding the hotel. Enjoyed walking along Pacific Palisades Park just about the beach. We explored Montana Ave. right next to the hotel, too- many great shops and restaurants. We could walk down Ocean Ave. to more hustle and bustle of restaurants, too. We hope to go back!

Fabulous Santa Monica Discovery

Discovered Oceana Hotel in Santa Monica. Have been to SM many times in the past and enjoyed Shutters and Viceroy a lot--Oceana is nicer. On Ocean Blvd. and overlooks the ocean. Newly remodeled. 70 rooms and they're huge (our Lanai Suite was 850 sq. ft.). Incredible service. Easy walking into SM.

Very quiet property, noticeably discreet and apparently serves an A List clientele. Small and simple.

Interestingly (and wonderfully), the hotel is technically in a residential area of SM (the building used to be apartments). As such, its restaurant and soon to open rooftop bar are not open to the public. They are open only to hotel guests (and guests of the hotel guests). A very exclusive feeling and guessing part of why a clientele that often seeks privacy seems to like it. The food/drink is good and available throughout the property--the dining room, pool, guest rooms/suites, etc.

They manage to create a wonderful vibe. One of the nicest hotels I've stayed in and I travel a lot.

Not quite ready for guests

Hotel is beautiful but incredibly loud. Road noise, room noise and a nice but seemingly inexperienced staff made our experience here not the best.
