Fortunately, the Inspirato portfolio is full of incredible places for the LGBTQ community — and all travelers — to visit without worry.

“Every Inspirato Member is unique, and we want to ensure that they all have memorable vacations with us. For those who identify as LGBTQ, our goal is to learn all about how you travel and suggest welcoming destinations for a great vacation. We assist in doing research and providing personal suggestions, as well, so that members can focus on spending time with the people they love.”

Stop by the LGBT Visitor Center in South Beach for locals’ recommendations on things to do and see. For partiers, Miami and South Beach are notorious for their buzzing nightlife and offer dozens of fabulous bars and clubs for dancing. Of course, no visit to Florida is complete without plenty of beach time. 12th Street Beach in Miami and Sebastian Street Beach in nearby Fort Lauderdale are gay meccas.

San Francisco, California

San Francisco is arguably the LGBTQ capital of the United States, having been deemed the country’s best city for gay travel by Travel + Leisure. The Castro District is the city’s LGBTQ headquarters, boasting an abundance of bars and clubs, the GLBT History Museum, landmarks such as the Castro Theater and Harvey Milk Plaza, and even rainbow-striped crosswalks.

Amsterdam, The Netherlands

In 2001, The Netherlands became the first country in the world to legalize same-sex marriage. Amsterdam is the country’s LGBTQ epicenter and hosted the 2016 Europride festival, one of the largest pride events in the world (2017’s fest will happen in Madrid, Spain). Amsterdam’s idyllic streets – especially Reguliersdwarsstraat street and within the Amstel and Old Centre neighborhoods – are lined with great gay bars, cafes, and shops,

Puerto Rico

San Juan – about a 40-minute drive from Inspirato’s residences in Bahia Beach and Dorado Beach – features a thriving LGBTQ scene. Numerous bars and clubs, primarily in the Condado and Santurce neighborhoods, are known for their lively Latin music and dance scenes, and travelers flock to nearby beaches to soak up the sun.

Sydney, Australia

Sydney is home to a large, diverse, and active LGBTQ population. The annual Sydney Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras – held each year beginning the second Thursday in February and ending on the first Saturday of March – attracts hundreds of thousands of visitors to its lavish parade, festival, and special events. Oxford Street is known as the main gay area, and there are numerous gay-friendly beaches throughout town.

New York, New York

There’s just about everything an LGBTQ traveler could want in New York City, considered by many to be the birthplace of the LGBTQ rights movement in the U.S. Enjoy unparalleled shopping, dining, and nightlife, an acclaimed Broadway show, or a visit to one of the city’s historic gay landmarks, such as the recently christened Stonewall National Monument, the first-ever national monument dedicated to LGBTQ history.
