Hale Kauno

Stayed at Hale Kauno, it was great. View was just OK. This unit is in the second row of villas all the way to the right if facing the beach. Upstairs main bedroom has a balcony but the view is obstructed by a big dome. Complimentary breakfast buffet is great! Many choices including omelet station

Great January getaway

Escaped for 4 nights with another couple. Having valet parking comped was nice. The townhouse/condo was plenty spacious for two couples although I wish it was a 2 BR with kings as opposed to one of the rooms having two queens. Probably works better for a family. The plunge pool was nice but would have love it if it was a tad warmer. The view was nice from the upstairs room but you needed to stand on the patio as opposed to having a clear view from the lounge chair. All of this is a bit petty as the resort was quite wonderful with a very nice beach right in front of it

Quick weekend in Maui

This property was beautiful, grounds were well kept and the staff very friendly. The room had everything we needed to make a very comfortable and enjoyable exeperience.

Good time - nice resort

Just spent a week at this property. The villa itself is functional and well maintained. Its footprint is smaller than some other properties we've been to but still big enough to leave us with a favorable impression (but there were only 4 of us). The resort is also nice, in good repair and the service was excellent. It's a bit of a walk from the lobby to the villas (close to the beach and downhill from the lobby) but the bell staff will take you in a golf cart and pick you up there as well (usually within 5 minutes). Restaurants on site are good, especially "KO" and we'd also recommend to give "THE RESTAURANT AT HOTEL WAILEA" a try. A bit pricey but excellent food and location (especially at sunset). This was our second stay (after 2023) at this property and I would not mind going back again.

Who doesn't love Maui?

Staying in Wailea is a treat every time. The idea of a villa at a renowned property makes it especially alluring. We have been to Maui several times, and were excited to try this residence out. The plunge pool; we used significantly more than I thought we would. A quick cool down, coming back from a day trip, coming off the beach (after showering of course-it's a nice touch. However, there are two rows of villas on property. This one was in the second row all the way on the right side (as you are facing the beach), so no direct view of the ocean or or chaise lounges. The upstairs (master suite -and where the front door is located is well appointed and super spacious. Both bathrooms are actually. The sitting area is nice but the dining area is a little off-putting and tight. Overall, a great place to lay your head for 8 days. As for activities, we had a few issues with the concierge in planning, but having been there so many times, we managed mostly on our own. Really liked the 24-hour availability of your car by simply texting the valet, as well as the included $50/head breakfast buffet. They are great about re-stocking the fridge with waters, and juices and ensuring there is plenty if Nespresso pods.

The service on the beach leaves lot to be desired right now. They won't let you place an umbrella anywhere but in one line with all the others so you're going to feel like you're on top of strangers, when there is plenty of beach to spread out. The attitudes we saw by those managers were a little off-putting. I get it's crowded and they may be understaffed but that's not the experience I want when I know I can get higher end service next door at the Four Seasons. Overall, I'd recommend the place but make sure you have your expectations in check. Post-Covid when things settle down, the little things there will be better.
