Location

Fly into Kahului Airport (OGG), which is located on Maui near Haleakala. You'll generally connect through Honolulu to get there and many major airlines offer service. Airlines servicing OGG include American, Delta, Hawaiian Airlines, United and US Airways.

One of the highlights of Maui is its variety; you might want to explore a new beach one day, a rainforest the next, and the road to Hana after that. We recommend renting a car through club partner Avis.

Great vacation

The villa was beautiful & very well located. The concierge was great, as was all of our service. And though the lobby is under construction, the noise didn’t bother us. We loved it & can’t wait to go back

Beautiful Unit!

A beautiful 2/2 villa at the end of the row. Good privacy. Service was excellent, villa was clean, new, well laid out and adequately stocked. The plunge pool is a nice touch and you're just steps from a sandy beach.

IMPORTANT NOTE: As of 7/10/23, there will be extensive renovations to the main lobby. All guests will now enter through the entrance on the side that is usually used for groups. It's not as nice and I'm sure there will be a good amount of construction noise from the lobby renovations. Having said that - the existing lobby is a bit tired, boring and in NEED of an update. I'm sure the new lobby will be beautiful.

Pool bar closes at 5 pm

We love hanging out at the pool all day and eating and drinking while doing so. However, at Fairmont, the pool bar closed at 5 pm and they said we needed to get out of the pool, dry off, walk up the stairs, go into the lobby, and get a drink and we could bring it back to the pool. Uh....No thanks! At Grand Wailea, the pool bar stays open late and they bring you all the food and drinks you desire.

Unbeatable location

We had a fantastic week at the Fairmont. The location is unbeatable - steps from the beach for amazing sunsets and whale watching. The beach at the Fairmont was great for boogie boarding for our teenagers, the grounds were beautiful, and we all enjoyed the pool. There were also several good snorkeling beaches only a short drive away. A few negatives to consider. The concierge is not very helpful. I was thankful the destination planner for the big island stepped in to help when we needed it. The kitchen should not be counted on. It doesn't have a real oven (only a microwave/ convection oven), the toaster was broken and had to be replaced, we had barely enough plates and silverware for our family (so constant washing was necessary), and the cooktop didn't work correctly. We do try to cook a few meals on vacation (especially breakfast) so this was very inconvenient. Also, the bed in the master needs to be replaced. It is rock hard and caused back issues for both my husband and I. Notwithstanding those negatives, the location and resort amenities were still worth it and we would stay there again.

Great Trip, Great Hotel and Great Location

The Fairmont Kea Lani is an awesome property. The room is basically on the beach with plenty of room to just hang out and lounge. As our first trip post COVID we found the COVID restrictions to be just fine, once you got cleared to enter Hawaii of course. After reading a ton of reviews I couldn't understand everyones issue with the master balcony. Ok I get and how stupid not to put it up front as the dome basically robs your view. My only other complaint is they only have plates etc.. for 4 people. We had a group of 5, seems like an easy cheap fix.
