Barnard, Vermont

With a population of less than 1,000, Barnard is a small New England town offering a secluded retreat just 3.5 hours away from Boston. The town dates back to the 1700s and is famously known as the home of Nobel Prize-winning novelist Sinclair Lewis, who purchased 300 acres of land in Barnard in 1928. Today, you’ll find the all-inclusive, five-star Twin Farms Resort on that same plot of land. The area is host to an abundance of outdoor activities across all seasons.
