Velana International Airport (MLE), located near the capital island Malé, serves as the single point of connection to the Maldives’ multiple modes of transportation—seaplanes, local ferries, and speedboats—which in turn are connected to resorts. We do not recommend renting a car during your stay in the Maldives. To explore the surrounding islands, arrange a boat or seaplane transfer through the resort.
The St. Regis Maldives Vommuli Resort is an approximately 45-minute seaplane ride from Velana International Airport. As the resort does not provide shuttle service, seaplane transfers to Vommuli Island are a separate fee, not covered in your daily rate. Seaplanes fly during daylight hours only and can be arranged through the resort for international flights landing at MLE before 3:30 p.m. Inform the resort at least three days in advance of your arrival. Exact seaplane timings may vary as seaplanes are operated by a third party company and may make additional stops at other destinations. Excess baggage fees may also apply.
