Perfect in Every Way!

We stayed at Sandpiper for a family weekend that included an intimate 14 person wedding in the backyard. The home was incredible from top to bottom. Everyone has their own space and we had ample room to enjoy ourselves and our gorgeous wedding. The pictures do not do this home justice, so if you are thinking about staying here DO IT. You will not regret it. We created memories that will last a lifetime in this gorgeous home.

Gayle gives family a special meaning!

This year was our family’s 9th time in Palmetto Dunes and we love it! We have stayed in Sandpiper at least 4 times, and it is the perfect vacation spot for us. The girls love the bunk bed room, pool and the easy access to the beach. The adults enjoy the open floor plan and the outdoor living. But one of our favorite things is the time we spend with Gayle Steiner, our Inspirato concierge. We request her every year because she has truly become family! She tends to our needs and ensures that we have the best vacations ever. She knows everything to do on the island and is a pro at recommending places to see and eat and things to do! Gayle is as important to our visit each year as anything else. She always asks us if we are celebrating anything. Usually we come a week later and are celebrating birthdays. This year we were just celebrating being together. She totally understood that. She gets us! We will see you next year!

During our last stay with Inspirato at Hilton Head SC, we received exceptional service from the Senior Concierge Gayle Steiner. This is the type of service that make Inspirato so enticing to its clientele. Gale's support service is remarkable and makes us want to return to the destination because of her Inspira-tional attentiveness.

Great Family Vacation @ Sandpiper in Hilton Head

This house was perfect for our family of 11! 7 Adults and 4 children. Bedrooms were spacious and the kids absolutely LOVED the Bunk bedroom. 5 minute walk to beach, backyard pool and outdoor area were a big hit with all of us. Being close to Shelter Cove area for dining and shopping was convenient. Had Chef Jim at the house for dinner one time. Highly recommend you hire him - presentation of food, menu choices and our dinner was delicious. He was also great with the kids. Would consider returning here for another family vacation.

Golfers should plan carefully

Other reviewers testify to the condition of Sandpiper and Inspirato's usual exemplary service so I won't repeat their comments. Our group of 6 adults loved the pool and outdoor seating but, importantly, the cushions on the outdoor furniture were extremely worn and soiled. I was informed after check-out that they were being replaced. However, we've encountered this situation in other Inspirato homes. Inspirato really needs to have 2 sets of slipcovers in rotation for outdoor furniture. When houses such as Sandpiper are booked solidly, there's no opportunity for cleaning of the slipcovers between guests.

We definitely recommend Ela's restaurant for dinner but were lukewarm on Skull Creek. We tend to cook in a lot when we travel, as we enjoy the convivial atmosphere of preparing and sharing a meal. The kitchen of Sandpiper was better equipped than most other Inspirato homes.

While everything about the planning and home were exemplary (except for the outdoor cushions!), 2 things are worth noting. First, the transportation company Inspirato uses for Hilton Head failed us twice on this trip. The driver simply blew off 2 different couples on successive days, abandoning them at the Savannah airport. Fortunately, our concierges Cait and Gayle were able to secure Ubers for both couples. Second, be sure to research facilities and conditions of the golf courses before booking tee times. Two of the three courses at Palmetto Dunes didn't have a functioning range, so we showed up early only to wait 45 minutes for our tee time. Also, the Jones course was in poor condition relative to the Hill and Fazio courses. So do your homework and plan accordingly. Pro tip: The Fazio has a set of tees just under 3000 yds that would be perfect for juniors or new golfers.

Overall, we loved our visit to Hilton Head but we liked Kiawah better.
