  • This home is exclusively staffed, managed, and maintained by Inspirato.
  • Bedrooms 2 and 3 are in a detached guest house. Both bedrooms have en suite bathrooms and the guest house has a separate outdoor sitting area.
  • Quiet hours are from 9 p.m. to 8 a.m. Outside of the quiet hours, please be considerate of your neighbors and the neighborhood and keep noise at a reasonable level.
  • Please park guest vehicles in designated parking areas only.
  • The residence may not be used for commercial purposes.
  • Please note that the Kolea Beach Club does not serve food or beverages.
  • This residence provides quick access to snorkeling at Anaeho'omalu Bay as well as the shopping, dining, and entertainment at the Kings' Shops & Queens' Marketplace.
  • The Waikoloa Beach Marriott, the Hilton Waikoloa Village, and two championship golf courses are within walking distance.

Location

The best option is to fly into Kona International Airport. Most major airlines service this airport, and the most common direct flights are from Los Angeles and San Francisco, with additional direct options from Chicago, Denver, Phoenix, and Salt Lake City. You may also want to explore flying into Hilo International Airport (ITO) or Honolulu International Airport (HNL), which then requires a quick commuter flight to the Big Island.

Outstanding trip

We just returned from our annual Kona vacation staying at Hale Keakhola on the Kohala Coast. While there we had two outstanding catered dinners from Chef Ippy Aiona.

"Chef Philip "Ippy" Aiona was born and raised on "The Big Island" of Hawaii to an Italian-American mother and a Native Hawaiian father. Growing up, his father had a Hawaiian Plate Lunch shop and his mother had an Italian Restaurant setting a fire to his passion for everything food related at a very young age. Ippy went on to graduate at top of his class from the Le Cordon Bleu in San Francisco. "

The first meal was a Full Buffet and a second a fantastic Seven course dinner. Both featured foods grown locally in Hawaii.

The dinner menu, served with Turnbull Wines, was:

Wonderful Grandkid trip

Had a great time with the grandkids and their parents on the Big Island & Hale Kealoha. Amanda & Dean did a great job with suggestions during planning. We all enjoyed the suggested luau, dolphin experience, private sailboat and Chef Ippy. Having your own private pool and ocean views not too bad either:)

Our home away from home

We've stayed at Hale Kealoha many times and honestly feel like it is our home away from home. The home is beautifully appointed, the pool and view are superb, the quick walkway to the beach for long meditative morning walks is restorative and I could go on and on about it. Amanda and Tyler take such good care of us and while there are so many great restaurants to enjoy there is nothing better than cooking up fresh fish from the fish market on the grill and enjoying a beautiful sunset at the outdoor dining area. Love, love, love this home.

Beautiful location and home though issues exist.

There is a cockroach problem on the property. There wasn't in the home but at night the cockroaches take over the pool and backyard area. Over a hundred of them were in the pool and one got in one of our guests hair that was in a lounge chair poolside. No one wanted to use the pool afterwards. The person representing Inspirato was unavailable for 3 of the seven days of the stay. Left a few messages and someone else responded to one of them. I wouldn't tip her before the end of your trip. She did get the hot water problem solved. We had stayed there before with no issues so this was not what we expected.

Almost perfection...

The house was absolutely beautiful and perfect for relaxing in! The art on the walls is worth the visit all by itself! The only disappointment was the view from the house was not what the pictures on the website represented. You can see some of the ocean if you're standing up, but while sitting at the pool you can only see the hedge. The hedge in the website picture looks very low, but it's very tall now. The location is perfect if you want easy access to the King and Queen shops... almost perfect! ;)
