Location

Los Cabos International Airport (SJD) is located at San José del Cabo, Baja California Sur, Mexico. The airport serves the Los Cabos area: San José del Cabo and Cabo San Lucas. Most major airlines offer service here, with frequent flights from Los Angeles, Phoenix, San Francisco, Dallas, Houston, San Diego, Denver, Chicago and Seattle.

Your Destination Concierge can help you arrange a rental car or transport from the airport. If you take advantage of the golf cart ride to the beach club, you may not need a car some days. However, you'll likely want one to drive to activities, into town for restaurants and shopping, and possibly for a day trip. Your concierge can arrange for a car service if you want to hit the town at night.

Perfect for family and adults

We just returned from Casa Cardon with our 3 kids. The villa set up was perfect with each kid getting their own space and a fully stocked kitchen to prepare meals at home. In addition to the interior, the patio was large and surprisingly private with a hot tub, large table, and built in gas grill. The fire pit was a nice touch at night although maintenance is required to turn it on and off. All of the facilities were nice. We played tennis and used the 6 seat golf cart to go the Beach Club and explore the property. A few things to note: 1. The beach is not swimmable. It is fine to lay out or explore the tide pools, but the current is very strong and the rocks make it very dangerous. 2. Highly recommend renting a car. We were able to leave the property and drive to the two swimming beaches close by which were Chileno Bay (10 minutes towards San Jose) and Medano Beach (15 minutes to Cabo San Lucas). Chileno allows you to bring your own food and drink and umbrella rentals are $20 US. Medano is a very crowded public beach with vendors walking up and down. The nice thing about Medano is that Watersports and restaurants are all right there. 3. Grocery store is 5 minutes away and well worth it to stock up on food and drinks for the villa. 4. We rented a private catamaran through our concierge and it was excellent. Highly recommend. This place is a 5 for adults, I gave it a 4 because we did have to leave the property to go in the ocean with the kids. The property and ammenities are what you would expect. We did eat the majority of our dinners off site. Highly recommend Flora Farms, The Office on the Beach, and La Lupita Taco y Mezcal on Thursday nights for the art walk. Lastly, our concierge Victor was outstanding and provided great recommendations and took care of all the reservations.

First time in Cabo

Lots to say and at the end of the day, the vacation was excellent because we were all together.

The Villa was spacious and great for our group of 6. There wear couple of sinks that didn't drain, but overall, the unit was perfect. Casa Cardon is on the main level which I really loved as we were steps away from the pool.

We ate breakfast/lunch a the beach club: don't make the same mistake. $$$$ and mid food, at best.

Stop at the grocery on the way in and pick up water and other snacks, otherwise, if you ask the concierge for a case of water (from Costco) you will spend $60 (USD) per case. Gulp. Water is not provided like we've experienced at other resorts in Mexico.

Dinner and Concina Del Mar was delicious. Breakfast there was equally delicious. we ate lunch and one dinner at the restaurant by the main pool, which was super yummy.

There technically is no swimmable beach but we did find a beautiful cove by Concina Del Mar where we could swim every afternoon. There were other people swimming there as well, but no lifeguards.

We rented a catamaran for a half day and went to a reef to snorkel which was great. and Expensive.

Overall - we had a great time. The level of service wasn't what we experienced in banyan tree, but it was solid.

be prepared to spend big time and definitely stock up at the grocery to fill in as needed.
