Best hotel in Sydney

We highly recommend this great location (easy walking distance to the wharf/piers/water shuttles, the famous bridge, opera house, botanical gardens, shopping, great restaurants, and Lord Nelsons pub!), beautiful property and amenities, but it is the impeccable service that makes the Langham Sydney a top notch experience. The concierge staff was amazingly helpful, the front desk personnel were super and the housekeepers were very thorough and attentive.

We had great dining experiences with room service one night (one of the best meals we had all week actually) and the breakfast/brunch buffet in the main dining room was top notch. Reasonable prices too. Great bar also, with service to a few small tables outside where I could smoke a cigar (if no one was sitting nearby) and watch the world go by...

We enjoyed the AstroTurf tennis court right across the street as well. They have loaner rackets, but bring your own balls if you want a fresh can.

The day spa, steam room and indoor pool area was terrific. Our son got a massage.

Great view of gorgeous Darling Harbor from our room, but be aware that there is major construction on a high rise building near the back of the hotel (March 2020) that is getting close to complete, but will go on for at least several more months - a little noisy but still a great view.

Many of the locals confirmed that the Langham is the best hotel in Sydney. It was our first trip to Aus, but won't be our last.

Langham in Sydney

We loved our stay at the Langham in Sydney. The hotel is beautiful. I especially loved the roomy and well decorated one bedroom suite. The location in the Rocks section of town was charming and close to the harbour, walking park, Sydney Opera House, ferry, Botanical Garden and more. The staff was amazing and helpful at every turn. I would highly recommend staying here!

sydney experience

Our first time to Australia. We spent 10 days in the Sydney area. There was more than enough to fill our time including a day trip to the Blue mountains. Did a trike tour which was a hit for everyone. Water taxis were much fun. Suggest private tours over group if you can do it, trip adviser covers them with reviews, you get to cover more territory and smaller venues. The bridge climb and opera theater are a must. The Langham residence suite is comfortable for a family and has a full kitchen to allow breakfast prep so you don't have to eat out three meals a day. Coles does local grocery delivery and the concierge was helpful setting up. The buffet at the Kent restaurant in the hotel is worth a go, particularly if you want to try the local seafood without costing an arm and a leg. No tipping country makes it easy. Loved it.

Perfect Location

Upon first arrival at night, I was concerned about the appearance of the area. It is not a large downtown hotel and its in a dark, isolated area, BUT it is very safe. I believe it is actually in the best area, The Rocks. We were greeted by very friendly staff and the rooms were awesome, large and clean. You are a 10 minute walk to the main area in the Rocks. There are lots of pubs and restaurants here. There is a restaurant in the hotel. We tried the breakfast buffett, but its very pricey. There is a very popular restaurant down the road called Pancakes on the Rocks that is great. On Sunday, there is a sort of market where the locals sell their merchandise. Very nice way to buy souvenirs. We also stayed in a Langham in Melbourne and I think I have found a new favorite chain. Awesome experience.
