  • Maximum occupancy: The maximum occupancy for this suite is four adults, with accommodations for two people on a full-sized pull-out sofa in the living room. One rollaway bed can be placed in the suite for a fee of $60 plus tax per night. Children under the age of 18 do not count toward maximum occupancy.

Location

Fly into Kahului Airport (OGG), which is located on Maui. Most major airlines offer service to OGG, including American, Delta, Hawaiian Airlines, United, and US Airways, with many flights connecting through Honolulu.

Fairmont Kea Lani

Our favorite place on the planet. Love everything about the Kea Lani, from the rooms, to the restaurants, to the adult pool to the staff who is wonderful and caring.

Fairmont not so Grand

Had our first and last stay at the Fairmont Wailea. Below are some of the reasons:

  • Service was really bad. I did feel bad for the employees that were working as they just didnt have enough help. Which I know is COVID related but to pay $18+ on a drink and wait for 45 minutes for them to come out is just not acceptable. No towels available. Could go on and on here but I have a job :)
  • Cabanas are a joke. Not a real structure. More like a tent.
  • Pools don't have an ocean view so very boring pool compared to some of the others around.
  • Beach in front would have been great but the water was the worst I've seen in Hawaii due to trade winds (what we were told).
A few musts are go to Big Beach and don't waste your time with the beach in front of Fairmont if you are wanting the Hawaiian water. Monkey Pod is Legit! Fairmont car service is nice and the drivers are awesome!

The Rooms need a serious facelift

We actually checked out of the property after two nights since we really couldn't stay there. The suite was like a motel room with decor to follow. Not an Inspirato caliber room. My husband was sick and had to spend most of the vacation in the room, so we were thankful to be able to move to the Four Seasons.

The perfect spot for Pizza in Paradise!

This is something that our family will do each time we visit the Fairmont in Maui! The hotel has amazing pizza... yes AMAZING! You can order it directly from the gift shop/ deli or oder it from room service and tell them that you're taking it out of the room... room service will also deliver it to the beautiful open air lobby bar if you want to enjoy a beverage ahead of time. Kids are also allowed in this bar, so we usually bring a card game to play while we sip on our drink and wait for our pizza. The lobby bar will also give you a refresher "to go" cup once your pizza arrives. We take our drinks, our AMAZING pizza and head for grassy area right above the beach where you'll find your own spot to sit on the many chairs or benches, while you continue to unwind. Get ready, because from here there you'll watch the Maui sky come alive in every color you can think of! You'll not only be front and center for a sunset you'll never forget, but also for the lighting of the resort torches! It's a fun and causal way to end the night after a full day in the sun... enjoy!
