From Skiing to Sundance

    Each January, Park City plays host to the Sundance Film Festival, the country’s largest celebration of independent movies from around the world. Filmmakers and enthusiasts flock for showings, panels, live music, and more.

    The historic Egyptian Theatre, first built in 1926, offers a medley of musicals, comedy acts, and community events. It still lives up to its name today, adorned with historic lotus leaf flourishes and hieroglyphics.

    An upscale, ski-only resort just a mile from Park City’s Main Street, Deer Valley offers more than 100 ski trails and plenty of beginner terrain for the novice skier. It also hosted multiple 2002 Winter Olympics events.

    Park City sits 7,000 feet above sea level and its climate is ideal for skiing in winter and hiking in the summer. Winter delivers crisp temperatures with plenty of powdery snow, while summer temperatures can soar into the 80s—ideal for cooling off in area lakes and rivers. Snow blankets the city starting in November and generally melts by early June.
