Location

Inspirato SoHo at The Dominick is located approximately 40 minutes from any of the three major New York airports: LaGuardia (LGA), John F. Kennedy (JFK), or Newark (EWR). Travelers from East Coast cities such as Boston, Providence, New Haven, or the Washington D.C. areas can also travel by train to Penn Station, which is only two miles from the hotel. We do not recommend driving in New York; the city’s extensive public transportation system and abundance of taxis make getting around without a car easy. Even better, your hotel is located in the heart of Lower Manhattan with endless restaurants, shops, galleries, and activities within walking distance, and an easy cab or subway ride to world-famous New York locales Times Square, Broadway, Central Park, Wall Street, and the One World Trade Center.

The Dominick - New York

Great location for SoHo lovers. Great walking spot to shops and resturants in SoHo. Amazing views uptown and great access to downtown attractions. Also fairly convenient to Broadway shows. If you're looking to spend most of your time uptown, especially the East Side, this may not be your spot.

You get what you pay for

I stayed here again on my most recent trip to New York. The rooms remain spacious and comfortable, and while the property is definitely showing its age in places, it continues to offer value relative to other New York hotels. At roughly one-half the price of many comparable properties, some wear and tear is understandable.

The biggest issue during my last stay, about two weeks ago, was that the elevators were not functioning properly. This created significant delays and was a real frustration throughout the visit. Hopefully management addresses this quickly, as it had a noticeable impact on the guest experience.

I understand the property may be changing ownership, and if that is the case, I hope the new owners invest in some much-needed upgrades. The hotel has great bones, an excellent location, and a lot of potential.

My view is simple: at under $500 per night, this remains one of the better value propositions in New York City. Above that level, the value equation becomes much harder to justify given the condition of the property and the increasing number of alternatives available.

Very Good Hotel; Fun Location

SOHO is vibrant, with much more of a neighborhood feel than Midtown. Great restaurants and shopping. The Dominick is very convenient to the subway. Accommodations were very good in all respects. Spacious, comfortable, excellent views, nice amenities. Every member of the staff was very responsive and pleasant. The one major drawback is the elevators. This is a large hotel served by only four elevators, one of which was out of commission. Waiting time was as long as eleven minutes. Before booking, I suggest you find out whether the fourth elevator is in service. Even with four in-service elevators, I imagine the waits can be significant. That said, we plan to return to the Dominick.

Quick Trip to NYC

The Dominick is a lovely property located in the lower west side. It's a great neighborhood with numerous interesting shops, restaurants and sights.

The hotel staff is very professional, helpful and friendly. They offered a number of very good suggestions for things to do and places to eat.

We would have easily given a five rating except the hotel has a problem with their elevator service. They have too many floors to handle with only four elevators so we had some waits of up to ten minutes.
